A Muslim Ban Became Constitutional Over the Weekend Apparently

Donald Trump's vice presidential running mate Indiana Governor Mike Pence has apparently had a change of heart on banning all Muslim travel and immigration to the United States.

Pence has also adopted Trump's language almost verbatim by saying that we need to "find out what's going on" before we allow more Muslims into the country.

"I am very supportive of Donald Trump's call to temporarily suspend immigration from countries where terrorist influence and impact represents a threat to the United States," Pence said on Fox News. [...]

"What I've heard from Donald Trump, and I believe the position he's articulated that resonates with millions of Americans, is that we've got to find out what's going on, and we've got to do something different, and we've got to put the safety and security of the American people first," Pence said.

In addition to his dramatic change of heart, Pence also apparently has a new interpretation of the Constitution.

Pence said a Muslim ban would be "unconstitutional" before he became Donald Trump's running mate.

Maybe we're looking at this all wrong. Maybe his interpretation of the Constitution has not changed at all. It's possible he explicitly supports unconstitutional policy.

Men like Mike Pence are why the vast majority of Americans are extremely cynical about politics.
