Ad Urges You to Vote for the Duke-Trump Ticket

Former Grand Wizard of the Klan David Duke has a long way to go and a primary to win before he appears on a general election ballot but, in that event, he'd like you to vote for the Duke-Trump ticket.

Some residents of Louisiana may soon hear a robocall from David Duke urging them to vote for the white nationalist platform of Trump and Duke.

“Massive immigration must stop now. We’ll be out numbered and outvoted in our own nation, it’s happening,” Duke says. ‘We’re losing our gun rights our free speech. We’re taxed to death. We’re losing our jobs and businesses to unfair fair trade. We’re losing our country. Look at the Super Bowl salute to the black panther cop killers.

“It’s time to stand up and vote for Donald Trump for president and vote for me David Duke for the U.S. Senate.”

In related news, the Republican party of Louisiana has decided not to prevent Duke from running in the party's primary because it could cost them too much money.

"We need to review the legal options or we are going to lose thousands of dollars with this tied up in court," said Michael Bayham, a member of the Republican State Central Committee from St. Bernard Parish attending the GOP's quarterly meeting in Baton Rouge this weekend.

Avoiding the embarrassment of David Duke seems like it would be worth "thousands of dollars," but the Louisiana GOP apparently didn't think so.

I have no idea if David Duke will win a spot on the general election ballot, but if he does the state Republican party may greatly regret this decision. They may also regret it even if he doesn't.

In 46 seconds, David Duke managed to say nothing even remotely true, except—presumably—his web address and who’s footing the bill for the calls.

And the Republican Party of Louisiana can’t work up the gumption to prevent convicted felons from running as Rs (after November, no less!) because Duke’s campaign coordinator threw a wobbly and threatened to sue.

I’d laugh, but it’s not funny.

    I miss sane Republicans.

If he gets the nomination it’s a lose/lose for the GOP. If he loses the race, well they lose a seat in the Senate. Hardly insignificant considering the current state of the Supreme Court. If he wins and becomes a Senator (God forbid!) then the Republican Party officially has a former KKK Grand Wizard within it’s ranks who will have the bully pulpit of the US Senate at his disposal for SIX YEARS. Six years of Democrats painting the entire GOP with his presence alone and six years of a former Grand Wizard of the KKK proposing legislation regarding all kinds of issues, including civil rights. That’s just not the kind of thing that gets explained away. Over and over. FOR. SIX. YEARS.

This is the position the GOP’s eight years of race baiting, tolerating race baiting and fear mongering has potentially placed it in.

Right about now Ryan and McConnell should be praying that Duke gets eaten alive by a Sharknado.

Look at the Super Bowl salute to the black panther cop killers.

The what to the who with the what, now?

That instantly caught my eye, too. Dude is definitely a Rethuglicon; he’s clearly delusional! Their whole damned party went collectively insane. I think because of that (black man) in the White House.

Let just assume there was some such thing as a “Super Bowl salute to the black panther cop killers.” Let’s just say it’s a 100% accurate, real thing that happened in the real world, and not just in the paranoid delusional ravings of a pandering lunatic.

“We’re losing […] our free speech!”
      ::two seconds later::
“How dare they use their free speech!”

      • GrafZeppelin127

        Well, of course.

Remember, what they call “freedom” is not freedom; it’s power.

What they call “tyranny” is not tyranny; it’s rule of law.

What they call “force” is not force; it’s accountability.

Beyonce’s Super Bowl performance was the right wing outrage du jour a few month’s back. It’s okay if you forgot; there are too many to keep track of them all.
