CBS-Times poll: Bush approval at 49%
The inaugural-eve polling data from CBS News / NY Times shows that Bush enters his second term with neither a mandate nor "the will of the people".
Right direction: 39%
Wrong direction: 56%
Approval rating: 49%
(Clinton: 60%, Reagan: 62%, Nixon: 51%, Ike: 73%)
Safer from terrorism: 29%
Deficit bigger: 66%
U.S. winning the war on terror: 39%
