Los Angeles 2005

losangelese-twister.jpg

I was in Los Angeles this week and wasn't surprised by the fact that the weather is as insane as we've read about. Is it weird to have lightning and thunderstorms in Los Angeles? I've never heard of that. But I'm no weather expert.

la-2005.jpgWhat I do know is that they're not supposed to have twisters there -- except in "The Day After Tomorrow". (The picture on the right was taken of the actual Los Angeles this week. Weird.) But sure enough, on Tuesday a twister touched down over the ocean just off the coast. And it wasn't the first. There were more last weekend. The LA Times:

A different tornado flattened a light pole and trees in Huntington Beach, a backed-up drain swamped eight homes in Long Beach and 7,000 homes lost power in Los Angeles because of downed lines, officials said.

So as I inched my way down the various freeways and streets, every time I saw a pompous idiot driving a Hummer I threw them a little friendly wave. With one finger.

Moolahs or mullahs... What's the difference?

I caught this clip on the Daily Show. Bush, while in Germany on 2/23, said "mooolahs" instead of "mullahs". What's amazing is that he's done this before in one of the debates last Fall.

Listen to the clip here.

Nevermind that he continues to say "nuke-yoo-lar".

And I'm proud to be an Am-er-i-can!

Gannon press gaggle compilation

Michael Moore has compiled video of many of Gannon's softball questions for Scott McClellan.

Prepare to be enraged here.

Bubble Boy avoids hostile Germans

Bush's town hall meeting in Germany has been cancelled mainly because the White House was warned that some of the Germans in attendance might ask hostile questions. Der Spiegel via dKos:

The much-touted American-style "town hall" meeting the White House has been planning with "normal Germans" of everyday walks of life will be missing during his visit to the Rhine River hamlet of Mainz this afternoon.

A few weeks ago, the Bush administration had declared that the chat -- which could have brought together tradesmen, butchers, bank employees, students and all other types to discuss trans-Atlantic relations -- would be the cornerstone of President George W. Bush's brief trip to Germany [...]

The Germans, though, insisted that a free forum should be exactly that. Wolfgang Ischinger, Germany's Ambassador to the United States, explained to the New York Times last week: "We told them, don't get upset with us if they ask angry questions."

So Bubble Boy -- the steadfast, tough-talking cowboy with the invisible six shooters -- is scared of nasty questions from Germans.

That's about right.

Religious right targeting... Shrek!

I really think the religious right are the biggest pervs imaginable. Pervs on par with the likes of Pee Wee and Bob Crane. CP Online:

On its website the Traditional Values Coalition is warning parents about the cross-dressing and transgender themes contained in the hit DreamWorks feature, now on DVD.

"Shrek 2 is billed as harmless entertainment but contains subtle sexual messages," says the coalition, which describes itself as a grassroots inter-denominational lobby with more than 43,000 member churches.

Download the PDF here.

Hmm. I wonder if, like Dobson's kiddie site, there's erotic imagery on the TVC's site. We'll just have to take a look, eh?

RBN comments and spam

Just a quick internal note. Our comments area has been under attack by spammers. I wanted to keep the comments area open without having to log-in... until I had to spend two hours yesterday deleted hundreds of spam comments.

So you'll have to create an account (if you haven't already) and log-in if you plan on commenting. The log-in process is a little spazzy so if you have any trouble, drop me an e-mail (address can be found on the Staff page).

Rove, Bennett smearing the AARP

Josh Marshall is reporting that Rove has employed adulterer Bill Bennett to spread propaganda about the AARP due to their opposition to the Bush Social Security raping.

And now, the American Spectator is running a ridiculous ad that demonizes both the gay community and AARP as being against the troops. Click here for the ad.

And this photo was taken in the Shiite Muslim controlled Sadr city. For the record, Shiite Muslims control the Iraqi government and are our "friends".

Gannon boss thanks Karl Rove

Special prosecutor NOW!

In particular, I'd like to thank Terri Hillhouse and the entire GOPUSA team for their drive, dedication, and support. I'd also like to send a special thank you to all those who personally provided me with their assistance, guidance, and friendship, including Kathleen Eberle, Bruce Eberle, Mike Hiban, Don Stewart, Paul Teller, Tim Goeglein, Stuart Richens, Matt Smith, Jen Ohman, Bob Johnson, Liz Sheld, Julie Cram, Phillip Stutts, Chuck Muth, Grover Norquist, Karl Rove, and G. Gordon Liddy.

That's a hell of a final three. A Watergate burglar, an election thief and propaganda minister, and a man who compared the estate tax with the holocaust. Read it here before it gets scrubbed!
