125 dead, 150 wounded... And counting. Full story here. Proof that the above liquid is, indeed, blood here.

Do people really care about this? I don't think so, truth be told, because here in America the stars all looked stunning in their Versace last night.

Make-believe blood and death is something to celebrate in your evening best, whilst dripping with million-dollar jewels. The real stuff is just way too icky to scknowledge on such a guilded morning as this.

My God. The essence of human life, gathered in a bloody muddy pool on an abandoned dirt street. Who are we to allow people like that fucking bastard Bush create this hell on earth? I can cry and pray and rant and rave but feel powerless. I've protested, voted, marched, written, given my pennies to the cause of Truth and justice. To no avail. And I despise what my country now stands for (War, Greed, Ruthlessness, Arrogance). At the same time I feel fortunate that I am able to hide, head down, protecting my child, for as long as possible. Till when? Till what we've wrought comes back to us a thousandfold.

This is what governments do. Power corrupts.
