If you have to discuss bias, you're biased
Media Matters reported on a curious question Chris Matthews posed to Tucker Carlson on Friday's Hardball: "Do you think our network is getting too conservative?"
Of course MSNBC's roster of right-wing hosts is growing. But that's only symptomatic of the real issue.
The question itself is the issue. Bias should never have to be discussed. And most of all, when pundits are reporting on themselves, the press becomes the story and there goes the ballgame. Every second they spend masturbating, is one less second they can spend on doing their job (reporting the news and watchdogging the government for their viewers).
If you have to ask, "Is my body getting too much cancer?" there's one thing for certain: you HAVE cancer. The other thing that's for certain is, you're asking the wrong goddamn questions.

What is that above? A new form of spam? On point of thread it is good to listen to the more thoughtful conservatives to get some idea of what the hell it is they are thinking. Its nice to know some of them are instead of just loudly spouting the nastiest, meanest crap that comes to mind. Tucker is indeed a dick (i have from time to time suspected I was talking to him here) but he is a thoughtful one who truly believes what he says. George Will, same category, don't agree with him but a very thoughtful presentation of his point of view. Chris Mathews can sometimes infuriate me but I still see him as poking and prodding issues which is really the point, I don't have time for people who make inflammatory statements and then spit condescention over any opposing point of view. Once again, Jon Stewart brings civility to discussions of interesting and sometimes really important issues. George Stephanopolis is really excellent at civilized thoughtful debate although I do remember many predictions of liberal inspired apocolypse and self-satisfied snorting at low ratings.
