More '08 speculation
This seems to generate plenty of varied opinions, so here's another ticket to chew on. How about:
Bill Richardson / Wes Clark
Discuss.

Hey Bob, I'm back to posting.
I like both guys. Though I don't know a lot about Richardson, form what I have seen of him on shows like Hardball, he comes across as a straight shooter and in-line with some of my political views. Could be an interesting mix. I still think it would be great to see a woman on the ticket – we've only had 43 male presidents these past few hundred years – it's about time for some change.
I see Lactar is managing to piss off people here now. And I recall him posing at the Camp he wouldn't be partaking in the discussions here. Good to see ya none-the-less.

We're talking about two progressives from red states -- one south/central, one southwest. I could actually see a Hillary/Richardson ticket.

Actually, Keyes was not UN Ambassador. He held a lesser position. (See below.) And even that relatively lowly post now stands as the pinnacle of his career.
I'm not advocating Richardson, just pointing out that governors do much better than senators in presidential contests. (Last senator elected president was JFK in 1960; the last two who ran - Dole and Kerry - lost.) And Richardson - as UN Ambassador and Energy Secretary - has a stronger national and international affairs resume than former governors Carter, Reagan, Clinton and (certainly!!) Bush Jr. did when they took office as president.

Though Keyes is sometimes called "Ambassador Keyes," the title can be a bit misleading: he served as the American ambassador to the United Nations Economic and Social Council, not as ambassador to the U.N. as a whole or to any individual nation.

Thanks for clearing that one up. It was overreported a bit in Illinois (as the only legit qualification he had, I guess itd be hard not to mention it a lot) but it was always a bit vague (now I know why, lol)

Feel great pity for the winner, Robert Reich once said that a huge challenge for Clinton's first term was going around with a giant pooper scooper cleaning up the mess from Bush 1 and Reagan, think of the mess anyone who gets the job next will have. If the next one is anywhere near as inept, arrogant, and clueless as this one its a safe bet the 200 year experiment will have failed.
