Oh crap.
Mr. Bush during yesterday's swearing-in of Torturer General Alberto Gonzales:
As Attorney General Gonzales begins his service, he will build on the outstanding work of Attorney General John Ashcroft.
Crap. Crap crap crap.
And in return, we must provide you [Gonzales] all the tools you need to do your job. And one of those tools is the Patriot Act, which has been vital to our success in tracking terrorists and disrupting their plans. Many key elements of the Patriot Act are now set to expire at the end of this year. We must not allow the passage of time or the illusion of safety to weaken our resolve in this new war. To protect the American people, Congress must promptly renew all provisions of the Patriot Act this year.
CRAP!

Jeremiah 20:9: If I say, "I will not mention him, or speak any more in his name," then within me there is something like a burning fire shut up in my bones; I am wary with holding it in, and I cannot." I tell myself to turn off the t.v., use the computer only for homework, take care of me and mine and screw this all, my heart and soul are weary trying. Then this wonderful human being hands me a faith based page that carries this quotation that tells me why I should never give up. And he wonders why I am so blown away by the goodness of he and his people. I showed him my copy of Thick Nat Hahn's book on Anger, and told him how it disciplines my mind and strengthens my soul. We both had a good laugh about how Dr. Dobson is pretty certain we are not people of faith and will go to hell. It takes me faith in Jesus, the discipline of Buddha, and and the wonder and joy of the Cherokee to not at least settle for slapping the piss out of anyone small enough to buy this crap. If I did to them and theirs what has been done to me and mine I would have to pull their hearts out of their chest with my bare hands and bite it while they watched. How in the Hell do you think those Muslims feel. I made the choice long ago not to self destruct but to find a way to make right what I could as best I could. You are a vexation of the spirit, sir. When I'm in the spirit of Jon Stewart I would come off with a snarky gun comment (did you know they are gonna sell Tasers for self protection, Oh great! crackhead ATM cards!) but right now I feel a deep need to go walk the Mighty Bokengehalas and do a walking meditation on the spirit of charity because I'm feeling this primal need for guts in my teeth.

Lactar said: "Remind me again when Alberto tortured anybody, and who it was?"
Remind me again who Rudolph Hoess personally tortured at Auschwitz.

Alberto got junior off jury duty in Texas when he was governor on the off chance that junior might have to someday consider the person on trial for a pardon-for drunk driving. Junior frequently bragged about how he couldn't get picked up for the same in Conneticut because of who his grandpa was. Such high regard for the spirit of the law. Speaking of Hess, grandpa lost a bank in wwII for Nazi collaboration. Guess we can figure where their idea of culture of life comes from.
