mr jackson
my reactions went slowly from hilarious rib-splitting laughter to sickening awe at the macabre realization that what i was listening to was an artistic and highly intelligent re-organization of actual snippets of reality .. and so it represented truth.
ho, shit! are we in trouble.
thank you for your political perspective, offered, as it is, in such daring mirth. the medium you have chosen for your message has raucously succeeded.

This is just what I have been trying to tell all my agnostic friends for years...if you actually read the Bible, and don't ignore parts of it for your own purposes, then it is impossible for Republicans to use it for their own agenda. Take it all. or accept that times have changed, ... thankfully! Thank you for giving voice to Christians (although you no longer apparently consider yourself one) who do try to follow the golden rule...love your neighbor as yourself! What else really matters?
Thank you!!!

Good reading but how much is hyperbole? Do we loose objectivity along the way?

I heard that the Bush kiddies are fund raising
to rebuild Bourbon Street. Lord knows they never
spend a dime of their own money maybe they can
get their god friends the Saudis to chip in. Maybe they could throw a kegger or two to get things going. Granny would probally be up for it.

Loved your article. There was even an audible chuckle or two. My guess is that the rebuttal from the right will probably read something "uhhh...but...uhhh...it's still wrong". And doesn't the book of Leviticus also allow polygamy and slavery?

i really appreciate your article and i hope for many more like it to come out. When i first heard about the case where a girl was refused by a christian school because her parents were gay i wasent sure what to think because there are two things i believe are true in this case. That alienating and persectuing people for whatever reason is wrong and that homosexuality is a sin. I I totally agree with you that refusing this girl schooling for that reason was wrong and i hope more people read your article so that they start to treat homosexuals not as less than anyone else but as equals because each one of us sins and to persecute someone for their sins is hypocrytical.. . But we cant forget what Jesus taught. When a women was going to be stoned for an adultery Jesus stopped those people and told her to "GO and SIn NO MOre." Jesus showed us how to both love accept and teach people to do what is right.

Your 10 commandments teach that Adultery is a sin. But they don't teach that homosexuality is a sin. So the "go and sin no more" ... if your Jesus guy actually said that and they didn't add it in later.. is just a reflection of the adherence to the 10 commandments. Now go read the old testament and try to fit the many recommendations on how to live your life... into your life today. And please don't tell me that what you choose is still relevant but the rest is not relevant to your life today.
