The Old Supreme Court

The Old Supreme Court Chamber (1810-1860) was open to visitors yesterday, and due to the sheer luck of being at the right place at the right time, I had a chance to check it out (I also snapped the above photo).
Located inside the U.S. Capitol, adjacent to The Crypt and just beneath the original Senate chamber, the Old Supreme Court Chamber was the home to the Amistad case, McCulloch v. Maryland, Gibbons v. Ogden, and the Dred Scot decision. Fireproofing left it unscathed when the British burned both wings of the Capitol building on August 24, 1814.
