2007: The Second Hottest Year On Record

The NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies:

Data collected from around the globe indicate that 2007 ranks as the second-warmest year on record...

Oh it gets worse. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration:

Taking into account the new data, they said, seven of the eight warmest years on record have occurred since 2001.

Now, for you Bush Republican trolls... this data is for the WORLD. Not just the United States. I know you like to mix that shit up in order to prove your worth as ignorant dittoheads. You like to say, "Well whah abaahh 1934? It was hot n' shit in 1934!" Yes, it was hot in the United States in 1934. But when I look at a map of U.S. Americans and such as... The United States isn't the WORLD.

YIKES! Thank God (and I mean THOR)I looked at what it was before I clicked!
I know what you mean though. Denver had it's snowiest Christmas since 1882 or something and there was talk of "SEE! There is no global warming! Denver just had IT'S SNOWIEST CHRISTMAS SINCE 1882!!"

It snowed 7 inches.

Denver, and the rest of Colorado, has insanely crazy unpredictable weather. It's probably a bad idea to use it as a comparison for anything.

The No Global Warming crowd just like to look at isolated instances rather than the big picture. It's easy for them to remember that hot day in 1934, but the math required look at all the months since 1934 just makes their six brain cells hurt.

Take a look at the following: (don't worry, not that kinda "wash-my eyeballs-with-bleach-please!" website, as above):

Note especially Prof. Smith's "[The Impossibility of] Rapid climate change" column.

As a long time resident of Colorado I can safely say the weather has changed. Spring comes about 3 weeks earlier. I know of several farmers who take that into account and plant accordingly.

Yeah, that snowiest Christmas was a joke. We rarely have a white Christmas. We even more rarely have a snowstorm that day. Lost in all the interpretations is that we need every single fucking inch of snow we can get! Last years' snows covered the ground for 3+ months in the city and 5+ higher up. Result: fantastic growth by everything.

Now if only those psuedo Christians could wrap their brains around the concept of rest and just give it.

Pardon me, Mr. Awef....Awesome. The question IS NOT what year is warmest, or whether China is warming. The question is: what's causing it? Why don't you address that little question, or is it beneath your awesomeness?
While you're at it, let us know how Al Gore gets a pass on using the Milankovitch Cycle, predicted in the 1930's on the basis of astronomical variations, to claim CO2 is responsible. The IPCC WG1 Report, section 6.4.1, plainly says changes of CO2 FOLLOW temperature changes by 800 years.
I'm equally impressed by your potty mouth.
Luckyleif...lucky I don't read your nonsense often.

Everyone agrees that CO2 is causing it. Where have you been? Also, I don't need to include every aspect of the climate crisis in every single post. Sorry, Anonymous Troll.

As for Milankovitch Cycles... Much like the ridiculous mixing of U.S. temps versus world temps by trolls like yourself, you're deliberately blurring the facts -- lying, as some might call it.

While there is an historical lag between CO2 levels and warming based on the Milankovitch cycles, you're missing the important fact that CO2 absolutely contributed to those past warming trends, even though it might not have caused the warming. Gore used this information to underscore that CO2 and temperatures are rising SIMULTANEOUSLY right now which means we're NOT on the upside of a Milankovitch spike. So in addition to man-made CO2 causing massive and rapid temperature increases, we could be facing Milankovitch CO2 levels lumped onto an already unprecedented CO2 spike.

"Potty mouth"? Seriously? Are you an infant?

Perhaps luckyleif has a response to his own question? Otherwise why would he have asked it?

Go ahead Repig - TELL us what you believe is causing global warming if it's not CO2?

Oh wait, I know - all the hot air coming out of Washington?
