Bloggers Must Choose, Too

I was thinking... It's also time for the major bloggers to get behind one of the remaining candidates. I know the unspoken strategy has been to avoid pissing off a reader-base which may have taken many years to build, but this is only the future of the party we're talking about here.

Again, either candidate will make history, so the choice comes down to a new paradigm -- "change" -- versus more of the same DLC style leadership we've been discontented with for so many years. Honestly, this is Joe Lieberman versus Ned Lamont.

So it's time to pick a side here, bloggers. Start off with, "While I will support the eventual nominee..." or, "While I admire [or respect] both candidates..." And go from there. We'll all make nice after there's an official nominee. Until then, it's time to take a stand on this thing.

Amen. Let's hear it Atrios, Firedoglake, and the rest of youse guys. You sure weren't shy when it was Lamont vs. Lieberman. Make a move.

Im afraid I don't "admire both candidates" nor will I support the "eventual nominee" I am absolutely an Obama supporter, but if he doesn't win the nomination and it ends up being Billary, I will be voting Bloomberg.

Bob, I know it's pretty obvious who you support, but unless I've missed something, or you declared before I came across your blog, you haven't actually stated for the record who you want. For those, like me, who may have missed it, could you go on record?

I endorsed Senator Obama on the Huffington Post just before Iowa.

OK, thanks; that was before I got really involved with reading blogs.

I endorsed Edwards months ago. Now I am drawn between Clinton and Obama, but leaning more towards Obama with the way Clinton's campaign has been acting.

I am in total agreement. Super Tuesday is upon us. Let's get behind Obama and ram his hope right down the greedy, viscious throat of the GOP!

Posted by: ltfcrazy [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 30, 2008 11:32 PM

Agreed. Kos has stated he voted absentee for Obama, but many others have remained coy on their choice. Sack up people.

I hear that major, major blogger Mr Furious tapped Obama months ago, but I'm not sure if that's true. That guy's so huge that Obama would have clinched it already...

I support Hillary 100%, although I know that Obama won't win the nomination, if by the luck of the draw, such as being struck by lightening, if Obama wins I will still support any democrat running, and to say one would support Bloomberg, sounds like one that votes with emotion not logic. After Super Tuesday we should ask who will support Hillary. We should vote logics not emotions.

The Truth - don't be so sure about your candidate. Did you see Hillary's only ahead by 3 points in CA, and only by 13 in her home state? MA is a battle now. CT is dead even.

Posted by: JumpyPants [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 31, 2008 09:11 AM

I support Obama 100% but I could not waste my vote on a 3rd party. This country cannot afford another Republican in the White House at this time.

McCain is a twisted pathetic liar and people who vote for Bloomberg will be electing him by pulling votes away from a VIABLE candidate.

If you love your country and want it back, support the Democratic candidate. If you love "less jobs and more war", vote McCain (if you thought looking at that hideous Bush for 7+ years was BAD). But at this point in time, a 3rd party candidate will simply take votes and lose.

United we stand people - we will not all be happy but we will not all be living in gulags for expressing a political opinion.

Here's a tidbit that may sway some people. Ann Coulter has officially endorsed Hillary Clinton. You can check it out on her website.

Posted by: ConstanceRifle [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 31, 2008 10:43 AM

As if anyone here really gives a shit what Ann (the wicked witch of the west)Coulter says. The only reason she's weighing in is to sow dissension and diviseveness among her sworn enemies - anyone with a brain.

Posted by: bajasteve [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 31, 2008 11:18 AM

I know that silly, but some people absolutely can't stand her, and could sway their opinion.

Posted by: ConstanceRifle [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 31, 2008 11:41 AM

I just want to say that whether one supports Hillary or Obama. If your preferred candidate don't win, we MUST rally behind anyone that gets the nomination. We need strong dedicated partisan democrats if we plan to take back the White House. When I read that someone was planning to support Bloomberg if Obama don't get the nod my heart sank.

Posted by: the_truth [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 31, 2008 12:34 PM

The Truth, as much as I hope Obama is the nominee, I agree with you 100%: we have to support the Dem. I honestly don't think Bloomberg will run if it's Obama. But regardless, we must support the Dem, however DLC she or he may be.

Posted by: JumpyPants [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 31, 2008 01:32 PM

So, what you're saying, Constance, is that all those Dems who aren't as smart and discerning as you might be fooled into thinking that Ann Coulter really means it when she makes nice about Hillary.

Posted by: bajasteve [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 31, 2008 01:57 PM

How'd you get that out of what I said? I said because some people can't stand her, it could influence their vote. I didn't say which way, and I said nothing about other Dems.

Posted by: ConstanceRifle [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 31, 2008 04:04 PM

Uhm, no. You're projecting. I said because some people can't stand her (including me), it could influence their vote. I said nothing about other Dems.

Why are my comments not showing up??

Posted by: ConstanceRifle [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 31, 2008 04:10 PM

They are, Constance. Sometimes after you post you have to refresh the page.

Posted by: Nanotyrannus [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 31, 2008 07:05 PM

Okay; just what might be the harmful outcome to a democratic candidate to have Ann Coulter make a stupid remark about endorsing him/her? Whose vote might it sway? I really don't get what you're trying to say here, if it wasn't how I interpreted it above.

So, you can't stand her, and it might influence your vote? How?

Posted by: bajasteve [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 31, 2008 10:59 PM

I don't think the Clintons welcome this endorsement:
