Disgraceful
BAGHDAD (AFP) - Three US soldiers have been killed in Iraq, the US military announced on Thursday, making them the first American casualties of the new year.A military statement said two soldiers were killed in a small-arms fire attack while conducting operations in Diyala province on Thursday. Another soldier was wounded. MORE.
This has to be a mistake. I thought the war was over.

If I'm not mistaken, the "truce" declared by Moqtada al Sadr ends 3/1/08. That is the real cause of the lessened violence in Iraq I believe. If Moqtada al Sadr turns his dogs loose, we're right back into a slaughterhouse.
So no Bob, the war isn't over.......
