Si Se Puede
Maybe the polls are all screwy like usual, but a net 16 point gain in 11 days?
National Gallup Poll - January 20, 2008
Clinton 48%
Obama 28%
National Gallup Poll - January 31, 2008
Clinton 43%
Obama 39%
And $32 million raised in one month is prettay... prettay good.

I wonder if when the Clintons decided to run, well over a year ago ( and we all know that, despite all the protestations, they decided years ago to run), if they ever contemplated, for even a moment, that another Democratic candidate could challenge them so successfully. This has to be a brutal blow to their sense of entitlement. They actually have to CAMPAIGN on something besides name recognition and previous White House residency.
Tom Hartman today spoke about the possibility that McCain could very well emerge as THE Republican candidate very soon and be able to begin running nationally as such. Meanwhile, the Democrats may still be fighting between BO and HRC right up until August, wasting valuable resources and time in the process.
I agree it's time for us to choose, and I've made my choice. But the question is, if the race swings in favor of Barack Obama yet still remains close, will she concede and let us get to work smashing the Republicans or stick around to the bitter end and possibly screw things up?

Well, with 14% of the Democratic convention delegates being picked on Tuesday in CA alone, if Barack wins here, it should make a big difference in how much longer this primary business has any importance. And...if he picks up some other big states, it could be locked up by Tuesday night, despite what the talking heads in the MSM have to say.

Bajasteve makes a realistic point. Obama has an increasingly likely chance to take CA - not just because of the polls, but did everyone see Markos' story on DailyKos about Teddy Kennedy's appearance on the HUGELY popular Latino radio show El Piolin this morning? Teddy laid it out that he and Barack Obama are the only senators who marched with workers for immigration rights. Here's Markos' takeaway ender: "This was worth millions in free advertising to the Obama campaign and can move real numbers. In a state were Obama is closing the gap fast according to the most recent polling, this could be game changing." Then if we factor in IL, GA, and other states where Obama is increasingly competitive (CT, MA, CO...even, amazingly, NY. I'm not saying he'll win NY, but polls are looking like Hillary might not break 50% in her home state...) I think it is possible for him to wrap it up Tuesday. But of course, as Nanotyrannus points out, we can't underestimate the titanic hubris of the Clinton animus, which believes it is entitled to certain things and will not go gently into any good night.
