Bill Cunningham Channels Zell Miller

A wingnut named Bill Cunningham went batshit today, then Senator McCain (credit where credit is due) rightfully apologized later.

The Huffington Post has it here. I originally had it posted in this entry, but CBS's online video automatically plays whenever the page is loaded -- which would've been really annoying for the next five days until the entry fell off the front page.

Kudos to McCain (Yes, I said it.)

On a lighter note... what the hell is John McCain storing in his cheeks? WMD's?

Wow. He really wants us to remember something about Barack Obama's middle name. What was that? Hmmmm....

Oh yeah. That guy walks like he's trying really hard not to poo.

Cunningham is an idiot who has polluted our airwaves here in Cincy for way to long. The bigger idiot is the person who thought they could have Cunningham do this speech and he wouldn't say something batshitty like he did.

I'm thinking McCain gets the best of both worlds with this incident...he apologizes for Cunningham so he gets credit for having some class & dignity and distances himself from the wingnut. OTOH, he gets the benefit of having a whole load of nasty shit & innuendo said about Obama without having it come out of his mouth. Hmmm.... Think maybe I've become a cynic??

"Hmmm.... Think maybe I've become a cynic??"

Maybe just wise.

Hold on...wathcing Olbermann...it seems that McCain made his apology while speaking to reporters AFTER the audience had left the room and something like 45 minutes after Cunningham's rant. It appears that the crowd would have been left with the impression that McCain knew what Cunningham was going to say and, at the very least, condoned it. They didn't hear McCain swear that something like this wouldn't happen again.
I take back my earlier comment about McCain maybe showing a bit of class & dignity...

Have you heard Cunningham's reaction to what McCain said after his speech? It's priceless. Those wingnut radio guys really can't stand being criticized one tiny little bit! Listening to it on CNN this morning, I could just picture him frothing at the mouth, like the rabid hate-monger he is.

I just watched his response. Wow. He's definitely mad about something, and oh yeah, crazy.
