They Pay This Guy How Much?
Mark Penn in today's conference call, by way of Sam Stein:
Disagreements between the two camps extended well beyond delegate math. Putting an optimistic take on a larger-than-expected Wisconsin loss, Clinton's chief strategist Mark Penn once again stressed that Obama had yet to win states that would portend a strong general election run."It would be hard to imagine a nominee from this party who didn't win New York, California, Massachusetts, Michigan, Florida, Texas, Ohio, and Pennsylvania," said Penn.
Okay let me explain how stupid this is -- again.
First, Texas, Pennsylvania and Ohio haven't voted yet and thusly Senator Obama couldn't have lost those states unless there's a Mark Penn Sweaty Fat Guy Time-Space Flux Capacitor I'm unaware of.
Second, Senator Obama wasn't even on the ballot in Michigan.
Third, what if Senator Clinton ends up losing in Texas, Ohio and Pennsylvania? So... Mark Penn wouldn't be able to imagine her as the nominee then? Atta boy. That's thinking ahead!
And most importantly... Not beating Democratic Candidate Hillary Clinton in those states means nothing about how Senator Obama will perform against a Republican. Meanwhile, does he honestly believe Senator Clinton will beat Senator McCain in Texas just because she might defeat Senator Obama there?
They're paying him $4.3 million for this nonsense, and I feel really bad for Senator Clinton. I seriously do. It's obvious that Mark Penn has hurt her campaign far more than he's helped.

Up until South Carolina, this was Bill Clinton's job. After that drew too much heat, they (literally) rolled this guy out. He's doing exactly what they want him to do. The dirty work.
What they don't realize is this kind of campaigning is far more damaging to them than to Barack Obama. Each time they work their old school shit-slinging, he wins by an even bigger margin. By the time the light bulb blows above their heads, it will be too late and the panicky grab for delegates will make them look even sadder and more pathetic.

NTMSWAB (Not to Mention Star Wars Again But...) Mark Penn is starting to remind me of Emperor Palpatine with his blind optimism, belief that an established presence means absolute rule and complete lack of foresight.
The Clinton campaign is using an old and busted strategy (read that as "death Star") to try and secure the democratic nomination (r.t.a. "Galaxy") against a younger, stronger, faster candidate (r.t.a. "A New Hope.")
It should be noted that in this analogy Hillary Clinton is Darth Vader...
The Clintons (r.t.a. Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi) fought desperately in their youth for civil rights, freedom from oppression and a change for young people to grow up and accomplish their dreams (The Clone Wars.) All the while fighting against a seemingly unstoppable army of robotic, right-wing fundamentalists who wanted nothing but money and power (The Trade Federation.) This making any sense so far?
Bill is impeached and spins off of the radar for a while (Comparable to Ben Kenobi going into exile on Tatooine) and Hillary, with the support of Penn (Vader, Palpatine) begins a vie for ultimate power (Builds a Death Star.) After helping (indirectly) Obama reach the hights of his political career, Bill Clinton finally commits political suicide with the help of Hillary (Vader kills Obi-Wan.) Obama then learns from and draws on the power of J.F.K. and M.L.K. (Combined to form a strange sort of political Yoda) and after winning a major victory and losing a few minor battles we're pretty much now at the endgame (Beginning of "Jedi") with Barack attempting to pry super delegates out of the hands of big business and the status-quo (Han Solo from Jabba the Hutt.)
When Hillary Clinton (Vader, who has become more machine than man and is now the very thing that he spent his youth fighting against) finally fires Mark Penn (Hogan-presses the Emperor into a deep dark whole) she will realize the error of her ways and give Barack the support and encouragement that she should have all along. All while dying a slow, choking political death (And looking old and busted in the process.)
Obama (Luke Skywalker) must then destroy the REAL ultimate threat to Democracy... The corporate stranglehold on Washington (Read that as "Death Star.")
... The End...

Oh! And I forgot! The first Death Star (Penn and Clinton's strategy) Was destroyed by Barack Obama's Campaign (R.T.A. Major losses 10 times in a row.)
I knew I forgot something. lol

Go, MaginMal, Go! Great stuff!
Where did this Mark Penn guy come from anyway? I've never heard of him up until recently and suddenly he's nearly single-handedly torpedoing an otherwise fairly promising candidacy. Talk about bad judgment on Clinton's part. If that's how well she chooses advisors, there's no effing way I could vote for her!
