Hillary Finally Makes the Cheer Squad!

Hillary Clinton is, not surprisingly, once again, lying, this is the lie about her foreign policy experience:

On the stump, Clinton takes credit for helping to bring peace between warring Catholics and Protestants in Northern Ireland. George Mitchell, the former Maine senator who helped negotiate the peace agreements, has said that Clinton's visits to the region and meetings with female activists there were "very helpful" in the peace efforts.

But one of the key Irish negotiators last week called Clinton's description of her role in the process a "wee bit silly."

"I don't know there was much she did apart from accompanying Bill (Clinton) going around," David Trimble told Belfast's Daily Telegraph.

Trimble, the former leader of the Ulster Unionist Party, and John Hume, leader of the nationalist Social Democratic Labour Party, shared the 1998 Nobel Peace Prize for their roles in the peace process. "I don't want to rain on the thing for her, but being a cheerleader for something is slightly different from being a principal player," Trimble said.

Cheerleaders may not be important over in war-torn Belfast, sir, but here in America, when phone calls come at 3 in the morning, cheerleaders answer them! With a cheer!

Ricky Wolffe of Newsweek last night reminded us all that she didn't even have any security clearance to speak of. You gotta have at least Secret clearance to answer the god damn red phone!

I wonder if any Big Name reporters will have the balls to challenge Hillary Clinton on her claims of foreign policy experience?

In fairness, the security clearance comes with the job.

Sometimes I'm not too good at making my pointless.

It's not even clear at this point that she had the clearance to be privy to matters of national security. How could she have gotten all this Presidential training she suggests she's gotten without it? She was First Lady. That's nothing to sneeze at, but it's hardly the presidential level foreign policy training ground she wants us to believe qualifies her over Barack Obama.

It might have gone over better instead if she had said that she'd visited many countries while First Lady and had many substantive conversations with world leaders perhaps lending her great insight into issues affecting many cultures. She's a very intelligent person. She certainly didn't just stand there beside her husband and do the Adoring Gaze thing.
Don't get me wrong, I think that bears consideration and makes her a strong candidate versus many Democrats and Republicans, but it's being positioned as one of THE reasons we should be voting for her and that this experience alone makes her "ready on day one."
It's pretty thin, and no it doesn't make anyone ready on day one.

She probably learned her sweet 'Clap, Clap, Point, Point' move while cheering in Ireland!
