John Adams

I forgot to post my reactions to parts one and two. In a word: stunning. Part two, which centered around the Declaration of Independence, was especially perfect.

I agree, Bob. I haven't been this excited about television in a long time. And you can count on anything Tom Hanks is involved in to be a quality production.

I am only 3/4 of the way through the first part(the 3 year old makes it hard to find time to watch anything start to finish), but, so far, it's simply amazing. Lot's and lot's of awards for this (it won't be forgotten, even this early in the year). They seemed to have the overall tone, feel, and look just right, in every way. So far, Paul Giamatti and Laura Linney have been awesome. Anyone else notice the subtle, but fantastic soundtrack? Can't wait for naptime today!

Being a huge McCullough fan, I was a little concerned at first they would end up destroying his book. So glad I was proven wrong. I'm recording the whole thing on DVR. If they offer a DVD, I'll buy it. If not then I will make my own.

I loved it, loved it, loved it!

Who's the guy playing Jefferson?

The actor playing Jefferson is Stephen Dillane, an English actor. I don't remember seeing him in anything specifically but do recall he won a Tony Award a couple of years back.

Brilliant casting throughout. My husband said "you're really gonna watch this???" He has now watched it three times in reshowings! Did anyone else get the feeling that Obama watched it too? When he talked about the drafting of the Constitution in a small room in Philadelphia, I was transported back to that scene in the movie.
