Massive Ice Shelf Collapses
Just like most presidential campaign seasons, the truly important issues are largely ignored. More so than usual. In this case...
WASHINGTON — A chunk of Antarctic ice about seven times the size of Manhattan suddenly collapsed, putting an even greater portion of glacial ice at risk, scientists said Tuesday.
But let's talk about Reverend Wright a little more. Because that will solve shit.

Exactly so!
I've been following this story (online -- don't bother with the TV anymore for news) because I care about the planet... I don't have another home, so yeah, I'm concerned.
Keep discarding those shiny objects that are so distracting, Bob. I'm right with you.

"Massive Ice Shelf Collapses"
Are we sure that wasn't the sound of the Democratic Party self destructing?

The question is, what do we do to get the pathetic, morally bankrupt media to finally focus on the issues that really matter? I feel like I've been writing letters and making phone calls to the major media outlets for years, begging them to cover the actual news and get out of bed with the Republicans -- and I know thousands of other people do the same. But none of it matters. They care as much about what "the people" (their audience) want as Dick Cheney does.

Not only will talking about Reverand Wright, ad nauseum I might add, solve shit; so too will talking about Hillary's big fat lie; every fucking snipe taken at the opposing candidate; and in general this whole race for the White House. Yep, the conversations being shaped by the cable news media heads are solving shit.
Let's see. Global warming and climate change; the Iraq debacle; the price of our basic commodities - you know like FOOD - continuing to skyrocket; human rights abuses being perpetrated around the world on a daily basis; abject poverty here and abroad...and the list goes on.
Yep, why discuss that boring crap.
Okay, that felt good, Bob.

Oh whatever. You liberals will believe anything. There is no such thing as ice, let alone ice shelves. Also, the science is still out as to whether Antarctica even exists. Also, things the size of Manhattan are cyclic, and if something is cyclic that means that man has no affect on it whatsoever.

Scarier still, that article says that the ice shelf that this chunk broke off of is only holding on by a thread. What happens when the entire shelf collapses? All of those chunks the size of small islands gouging away at the other shelves along the way...
Well, I'm sure we will see action when Bear/Stearns CEO types new 25 million dollar Manhattan homes require sandbag perimeters to keep out the waves. That's a mercy, anyway.
