Self-Sabotage
One Clinton aide yesterday derided Mr Obama’s victories in "boutique" caucus states rather than the hardscrabble terrain of the rustbelt, saying: "Obama has won the small caucus states with the latte-sipping crowd. They don’t need a president, they need a feeling."
Right, whatever. Senator Obama will easily win Clinton states like New York, New Jersey, California and Michigan this November. But will Senator Clinton win the Obama states which her campaign has insulted time after time? The Clinton campaign isn't very smart.

What the Clinton campaign cannot seem to understand is that there are actions for their remarks. People ARE listening, and they ARE writing this down, and we're not going to forget it. But, we can thank her for inventing the advertising against her. All Obama needs to do is buy 5-second ad spots in all the states she has insulted and just play a random clip of her campaign talking about how they don't matter.

The sad part about all of this is that if Ms. Clinton pulls something out of her (huge) ass and steals the nomination away 2000 election style. No one is going to call her out on it and we'll be stuck with this FAKE democrat for probably 8 years.
I'm all about a womans right to choose. But how can anyone justify choosing who's right for someone else?
Oh yeah! And when that phone rings @ 3a.m.... It'll probably be a 16 year old claiming to be the president of Iceland... Look it up. It's funny. lol

Well they have to blame it on somebody. There's no way in hell any of them are going to take the blame for such a shitty ground game in state after state after state.
So Wyoming is a latte-sipping boutique state that just needs a feeling?

Really classy, MajinMal. Are ad hominem attacks your standard tactic, or are you just trying to attain O'Reilly credibility? Attack Hillary all you want on her programs, her tactics, her speeches, etc. Attack her on such a personal level and all you do is show what an ass yuou are.

No, Wyoming and Mississippi are solidly red states that are no way in hell going to vote Democratic in the general election. When is the last time either one did? Alaska is pretty hard-core Rethuglican, as well. Why should Democrats waste money flattering GOP assholes, hoping they might become human?

Come on, Baja. It's not a waste of money to put time and effort into WY, MS or any other Red state. It's been shown time and time again we are getting Democrats to turn out in those states in Huge Numbers. You've seen the reporting from
today. In 2004, 675 voted statewide in the caucus. The Unofficial Word from wikipedia says with 96% reporting, 7,612 voted in the caucus today. That's more than 11 times what turned out just 4 years ago. In a Red State. Full of Republicans.
There can be no throwaways. We can't just decide a state wont go our way because of polling or the fact that it once voted heavily Republican. When we get the candidates in those states, Dems turn out. And when Dems turn out for the Presidential, they turn out for the local elections. All politics is local. If we ignore the Wyomings, the Mississippis, the Alaskas, the Georgias, the South Carolinas, etc etc, we are pretty much handing them over to the Republicans by default.
We may not win WY or MS in the general, but you better believe we're going to give those Republican ass clowns a run for their money. We're going to force them out from under their rocks to fight for it. I don't know about you, but I'm not ready to surrender those states, and my candidate better not be either.

Agreed, Nano. Just because a state has historically voted Republican doesn't mean it will in 2008. Just as Reagan took advantage of Democrats being dissatisfied in 1980, the Dems need to take advantage of the extremely low approval ratings of the current administration. Please no one be annoyed that I brought up Reagan - I do NOT worship at the altar of St Ron and do NOT consider him to have been a great - or even good - president, but he saw the opportunity to get Dems and Indies to vote for him & Dems need to learn a lesson from that.
People are not happy with the way this country is going and with the trashing of the Constitution. This election may be the only chance we have to change direction. If Dems cede traditionally Republican states and do not campaign vigoriously, they are idiots.

Campaigning is also not strictly about the Presidential race either, it's also about turning locals who may be pissed at their state elected officials as well. If we want to change people's minds, or at least allow them to try to understand us better we can't treat them as if they don't matter.
