The Liebercratic Party

Just now, Newsweek's Richard Wolffe and Keith Olbermann both compared Senator Clinton to Joe Lieberman. For a while there, I thought I was the only one (here and here). Many in the blogotubes thought I was nuts for suggesting this campaign is not unlike the Lamont-Lieberman campaign. In fact, I'll take my line of reasoning one step further. I say that Senator Clinton will run as a third party candidate if she doesn't get the nomination. How's about them Liebercrat apples, eh? Eh?!

UPDATE: Transcribed without comment... Margaret Carlson on MSNBC just now:

[Senator Clinton] gave the opening speech at the women's conference in Beijing, and she's visited 80 countries. Well, she really did -- I was on some of those trips. She really did have tea and cock... uh... tea and cookies in those countries.

Bob,

You aren't the only one.

Back when Kucinich was still in the race, I had already decided that Hillary sounded a lot like Joe Lieberman.

"Tea and cock" eh? Maybe she IS qualified to be president, after all...
As to Lieberman & Lamont - I'm in CT and Lieberman's behavior in that was truly disgusting. Lieberman's re-election happened only because many people who weren't registered as Democrats weren't paying attention. And those who are Dems are never going to forgive Lieberman for the slap in the face he gave us. He knew best and the votes of the rank & file didn't count for shit in his book.
Yup - it's an apt comparison, splitting the party for his own political gain.

Watching Countdown now & they just showed the interview with Margaret Carlson. It was Clinton's campaign that went to the Canadians about NAFTA?!! They let the controversy go all weekend, showing Obama as being underhanded and double-talking about NAFTA, and now it turns out that it wasn't him at all. Wonder how the folks in Ohio who may have voted for Clinton based on that Obama-goes-to-Canada story feel now...
