2118

The DNC has reached a compromise to seat half of Michigan and Florida.

2118 is the magic number now and Senator Obama is 66 delegates away.

Also -- and I really, really hope I'm wrong -- this gives Senator Clinton an awesome excuse to leave the party and run as a Liebercrat. Harold Ickes:

"There's been a lot of talk about party unity _ let's all come together, and put our arms around each other," said Ickes, who is also a member of the Rules Committee that approved the deal. "I submit to you ladies and gentlemen, hijacking four delegates ... is not a good way to start down the path of party unity."

A protester shouted:

"How can you call yourselves Democrats if you don't count the vote?" one man in the audience shouted before being escorted out by security. "This is not the Democratic Party!"

Again, I really hope I'm wrong.

Bullshit over "4 hijacked delegates".
OTOH, I hope you're wrong, too

First, she's going to wreck the Democratic Party by taking this to the DNC. Then, she's going to ensure a GOP victory by running as an independent and taking votes away from Obama. She wants McCain to win so she can run in 2012.

Absolutely pathetic. Her supporters need to realize that she's not going to be President.

Such a shame.

I was there! It was a fucking madhouse! Those Hillary people ARE CERTIFIABLY CRAZY! That guy that you quoted was sitting near me. There was hissing and a lot of nastiness. I was heckled by Hillary supporters outside. It was awful.

She may be contemplating running as an independent, but polls show she's losing support in California (a state that matters) to Obama. She's already looking like a sore loser. She goes Liebercrat and her support will dry up. That worked for Ol Joe in a small state, but there is no stomach for it at the national level.

I just read Craig Crawford's article in Congressional Quarterly where he writes that the RBC just effectively made Obama the head of the party that has been led by the Clintons all this time. Boy is that idea going to piss them off but good!

There's no doubt she's losing support- the more (reasonable) people learn about her, the more they dislike her (and vice-versa for Obama). Still, I gotta think it would be tough for Obama to beat the McCain in November with Hillary taking away a good chunk of blue supporters.

If she somehow manages to get McCain elected, I'm going to feel incredibly angry, helpless, and incredulous at the idiocy of many people.
