Bob, great posting(s) as usual last night, but I particularly appreciated your comment about dropping first names. I'm a tried/true Obama supporter, but as I was relating an NYT article to my wife about how a lot of her supporters feel that there has been a sexist tint to covering her campaign, I realized that they referred to her throughout the piece as "Mrs. Clinton." (They also called her Senator Clinton, once or twice, but mainly Mrs. C.)Now, why is that? Do they call Barack "Mr. Obama"? Shouldn't she be regarded as "Clinton" and "Senator Clinton" but not Mrs. Clinton? Seems a bit condescending--even though I'm guessing that it's inadvertent. Just some thoughtage...
