Morning Awful
“Remember,” Davis writes, “Hispanic voters are a swing group in this election and future elections. John McCain, being from a border state, may be out of sync with many Republicans but he has standing among Hispanics. Barrack Obama has not made the sale to Hispanic voters. Thus, this issue is a tar baby for anyone who touches it, with land mines everywhere.”
Tony Snow likes to use that phrase, too.

Oh my God..I hope we have seen the last of these kinds of politicians. What is he, a George Allen stand-in? Sad.

This is what we we've been talking about, yes? We have to keep calling them out on it. Since it's really hard for them to hide their hood all the time, even in public, especially in the South, these assholes are going to subtly try to make racist language part of the national dialogue, even if it's mostly only in the Southern half. "Tar Baby" "Cotton Pickin'" "That boy" 'See dumb hillbilly, it's OK to be racist, everybody is.'
They seem to have no idea how much it's going to backfire.

What if it doesn't backfire? How many of those robot insurance policy holders - Bob is cleaning up - watch mainstream news and assume that yep, everybody is? I'd say 70% of them think that's just the way it is.
Like sex and murder, racism sells advertising, so don't look for any accountability and justice when it comes to race.

Maybe I'm just stupid, but I don't understand what this guy's trying to say. How is McCain's supposed "in touchness" with Hispanic voters a "tar baby". I'm listening, but please talk slowly.

I forgot the landmines. Who's stringing these sentences together for these people?

FS: Because it's a clusterfuck issue that the media has no idea how to handle. It'll have to be addressed constantly, because they’ll say dumb shit constantly. This is our time to weed out and shame the assholes that shouldn't have a job in “journalism” anyway. That's what we're all trying to do here, make them either ask the tough racial questions, or be forced to answer them. We can't change the die-hard racists, but they are so small a number they hardly matter in regard to votes (hell, most of probably don't know how to vote). It's the typical passed down family bigotry and prejudice that can be reasoned with and turned around. It isn’t based in practiced hate, it’s driven by planted fear, we just have to help them to realize they should fear losing their jobs and homes more, and remind them often that it has ALWAYS been super-whitey who has taken them away from the working class, white, black, brown, or purple.
In short, it's an information war, and even though the MSM doesn't want you to know it, we're winning for the time being.
And you're right, it's us who has to hold them accountable with our mouth (fingers), time, and wallets (or purses for you ladies that carry them).

Again I think an excellent question is where is the media? If Barack Obama was caught on a phone call talking about winning the "honky" vote they wouldn't shut up about it for daaaaaaaaaaaaays. (Of course, he'd never do that. Part of his appeal is that he has glided gracefully above everyone as they take the low road of politics.)
Unfortunately, these racist bastards would never agree to an interview with anyone that would ask them "What the hell were you using THAT PHRASE for? What were you thinking?"
