Chuck Todd's Outrage
I'm not really freaked out by Chuck Todd's emotional reaction to that MoveOn ad with the baby. Honestly, I think Chuck Todd is still shaken by the loss of Russert and consequently overreacted to the content of the ad (it was the day after Father's Day, too).
I'm giving all of the NBC people a lot of latitude this week. Except for Buchanan and this "exotic" horsecrap. There's no excuse for race-baiting.

I'm glad someone with a level head weighed in on this. John Amato is losing his shit with "SEE? I TOLD you guys that dude sucks". Opinions can vary, and last I checked, Chuck Todd wasn't supposed to be the new standard-bearer for the Left™.
If anything people should be jumping all over MSNBC for continuing to put a guy on the air whose latest book expressly states that World War II was "unnecessary". Oh and also he's against due process for POWs. But totally NOT a Nazi.

I agree, Bob. I'm actually surprised that they're equating this MoveOn.org ad to other, more controversial ones. I mean, it's not like they're invoking 9/11 or something.

My wife and I were watching it live when it aired the morning and our oldest son is named Aleksandr (aged 9). Eight more years of wing-nutery will prove the need for a draft putting my son at draft age and the architects of this fiasco and their families will never volunteer.
I didn't say a word, while my wife loved the add.

With a 14-month-old son, this ad made me a little teary.
Chuck Todd is entitled to call this ad "shameless" only if he doesn't have children.
