Clinton To Endorse Obama on Friday?

Okay, so I bought the concession thing yesterday so I will hence remain cautiously optimistic about this breaking news.

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton is moving to suspend her campaign and endorse Senator Barack Obama on Friday after Democratic members of Congress urged her on Wednesday to leave the race and allow the party to unite around Mr. Obama, according to a senior adviser to Mrs. Clinton.

Congressman Chaahhlie Rangel and 23 other members of Congress called her today and told her that it was time. Rangel, a Clinton supporter, in particular was "angry" and thought Senator Clinton's speech was "rude," according to NBC's Andrea Mitchell just now on MSNBC.

Howard Fineman told Olbermann that there was a second call in which eight Senators delivered a similar message to Senator Clinton.

UPDATE: Heh. So Olbermann is now reporting that the public event will be Saturday -- not Friday. Man, I wish I had a staff of reporters and, you know, access to very serious insiders.

Don't you love the timing of the endorsement, Bob? Friday is the day when politicians release bad news in order to give it low visibility. An endorsement last night might have shown some good will, even if it's about 2 months too late for that.

I don't want Senator Clinton or her peckerwood husband anywhere near the White House ever again. Never wanted them there in the first place, either.

Friday is the anniversary of the assassination of Bobby Kennedy. To do it on that date would remind the public of one of (many) Hillary's more memorable scurrilous political faux pas.
