Goodbye
"I want to say also that this may be the last day I'm ever involved in a campaign of this kind. I thought I was out of politics, 'til Hillary decided to run. But it has been, one of the greatest honors of my life to go around and campaign for her for president," --President Clinton today. (h/t Sullivan)
Also... Senator Clinton has summoned her contributors to NYC for a special address tomorrow night. Edsall says she could be suspending her campaign. I hope she brings her double-neck guitar and totally SHREDS.
UPDATE: The Clinton campaign is saying it won't be a concession speech (duh), and they're walking back President Clinton's "last day" remarks.
Mr. Clinton, aides said, was referring to the end of the primary season -- there are no remaining places for him to campaign for his wife -- and did not attempt to foreshadow her departure.
Huh? He would campaign for her in general, wouldn't he?
UPDATE THE SECOND: It just hit me. The lyric isn't "Merry Go Round" -- it's "Mem'ry Go Round." Oh those clever, clever rangers of the night!

OR she could be announcing that she's leaving the Democratic party & joining the Connecticut for Joe Party (catchy name, eh? I can't take credit for it, though) Terry Mac is vowing another big win for Hillary tomorrow night & that she'll be the nominee...

That's a pretty hilarious song...for the first 30 seconds or so. Man, that's horrible.
She'll just suspend to lurk in the shadows, while keeping her loopy supporters in hysterics with stupid emails and surrogates. Ya know, just in case "anything" should happen. Like the Clinton's undermining his campaign. They'll be screaming about her getting/deserving "something", even if she does ever concede.
That's said, I really hope they wise-up, salvage some fucking dignity, but I don't see it happening.

I've been thinking the past few days that if she pulls out, it will not be a short speech at 1 pm in the afternoon, it'll be an earth shattering prime-time event. Then she'll also be the headliner on every Sunday talk show and get to sit there with this aura of noble self sacrifice. "You know, George ( And Tim, Britt, et al) I really won the popular vote. But, in the interest of party unity..."
She'll never acknowledge that she LOST the nomination. In her eyes, it was wrested from her by caucusy troublemakers, the RBC and of course, that big meanie Barack Obama.

Not a concession speech, eh? Hmmm...they could be lying! Nah, they wouldn't do that....

I am skeptical that she will drop out. I am putting money on her saying she's going to the Credentials Comm.

Re: lyrics- doesn't make it any less or more horrible. It sounds like one of those horrible 80's movie soundtrack songs, by some not even one hit wonder bands, that you fast forwarded the tape through.

Olbermann just said that the chairmen of the Credentials Committee are...(wait for it)... James Roosevelt & Alexis Herman - the same people who are the chairmen of the RBC! Think they'll be amenable to overruling the RBC?

Lordy, that vid is like a (bad) SNL skit. At first I was thinking, "Okay, what's the Mick Jagger impersonator in the yellow shirt doing? Writing the Great American Novel in the middle of filming a video???" Then I realized he was pretending to be writing a song. And what's up with the keyboard player in the sunglasses? That's the guy who created Mr. Bill from SNL, right??? And that dude so doesn't deserved a double-necked guitar.
