I Can Haz Water Ice, N00B

This just in:

"Are you ready to celebrate? Well, get ready: We have ICE!!!!! Yes, ICE, *WATER ICE* on Mars! w00t!!! Best day ever!!" the Mars Phoenix Lander tweeted at about 5:15 pm.

Yes, there is water ice on Mars. The only thing I don't get is... "W00t"? The Phoenix Lander talks like a MySpace hipster?

Waiting for the stupifying suggestion of importing Martian ice to our quickly melting Arctic ice cap...let's file that idea beside the equally imbecilic idea of off-shore drilling.
I confess, I'm ignorant in matters MySpacey or Facebookian (guessing on those suffixes too, ha) but I do know this:
SPOILER ALERT - Phoenix's "voice" is supplied by JPL employee, mom of two, Veronica McGregor (I wonder if she's Scottish?!) What a fun job!

Yeah, importing ice from Mars would be ridiculous... Much better to harvest it from comets! I saw that on tv once, so I'm pretty sure it would work. Al Gore's head in a jar seemed to think it was a good idea.

The idea of terra-forming Mars just got a tiny bit more believable.
