I'm Ashamed To Be A Democrat Today
Why?
This.

Shame on you, Congressman Hoyer.

Still there may be hope. I called up my local Congress Critter yesterday - Kathy Castor of FL-11th is against it, and evidently the Obama campaign is reviewing the law - based on his last vote, I expect him to vote against it.
But yes, Hoyer's appeasement - and *this* is the definition of appeasement, folks, giving your enemy exactly what they want without hope or expectation of good will - is bullshit.

There's still a chance- Dodd may still fillibuster or put a hold on it, and Feingold is not too happy either. I'm looking forward to the House vote though- thinking there will be some fun.

Eeeew. With Obama in charge, can he replace that do-no-gooder Pelosi? With Clinton?

I grew up in Maryland, and Hoyer has been around forever. He's an old-school corrupt Maryland Democrat in the vein of Donny Schaefer and his crew.
He voted for the god awful 2005 Bill, this should really be no surprise.
In a perfect world a Donna Edwards-style challenger would be waiting in the wings to put him out on his ear. Sadly no such person exists. Gotta love our terrible country.

Now we see why they chose this guy over Murtha.
I'm beginning to feel like we really didn't win the Congress back in 2006. It's time we rid the party of blue dog democrats.
