Lesser Of Two Evils

On his show last night, Mike Malloy was already talking about voting for Nader in November, and a caller referred to Senator Obama as 'the lesser of two evils'. And we know how well this attitude worked out in 2000.

I listen to Malloy all the time, although I haven't heard last night's podcast yet, but I was sure he would go on a rant about Obama's "support" of the FISA compromise.

He did this a few weeks ago as well, when Nader first announced he would run and compared Obama to Clinton as more of the same: the "establishment" candidates versus what could be with Nader.

The problem here is that Mike, and a lot of other radio hosts are idealogues. If the world were perfect, we'd be on solar power by now, there would be no more wars, we'd have worldwide socialzed medicine and no hunger. Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. Malloy knows this, but that's not what his show is about, so I wouldn't worry too much about the Nader vote. He stopped talking about it soon after he ranted about it. I love listening to Malloy but sometimes his a little too far left even for me.

But I don't think he ever claimed to be a pragmatist.

Unfortunately, after listening to Malloy for a few months, I have unhappily come to the conclusion that he's not playing with a full deck. He's 3 frys short of a happy meal. He's got bats in his belfry. He's a bit of a nutter.
He's the left wing version of the crack addled penguin, Mark Levin. Levin is himself merely Captain Binghampton on meth.
