Accountability
The corporate media gave President Bush and Senator McCain a free pass in lieu of patriotism and barbeque, but on Morning Joe, Mark Hussein Halperin, David Shuster and Mika Brzezinski think that after three whole days of good news for Senator Obama, it's time for the press corp to deliberately try to trip him up -- to hold him "accountable".
Okay.
For what?

Shuster's wife is in the press corp on the new plane, and according to him from last night and today, the press is ticked that they didn't get super duper uber coolio upgrades to the press section like the rest of the new plane. It's still "cramped".
Therefore, the press is grumpy and are going to take it out on Obama by holding him "accountable". The Obama camp should have taken the easy way out and ordered bbq for everyone.

The corporate media continues to insist on "balanced" coverage, meaning they (claim to) attempt to apply equal amounts of criticism to both "sides". Rather than report on the facts as they are, they need to present opposing views on all of the subjects at hand. See: their coverage of global warming, no child left behind, the mortgage crisis, etc etc.

What they don't understand, Travis, is that not every issue has two sides and, when an issue does, those two sides shouldn't be granted equal weight. Makes me crazy.
