I Think I'm Gonna Barf

President Bush is about to sign the FISA Amendments Bill and of course he's playing it like it is: a huge victory for him and his fellow criminals. AND he's invoking 9/11 and the victims who died in the World Trade Center.

One of the chapters in my forthcoming book is called "The FISA Feargasm," in which I document the lengths to which the Bushies used fear to get to this point with FISA. I can't begin to describe how awful it is that he got what he wanted -- especially given the bottomless record of fear mongering he used to get here.

... And the fact that Democrats have "control" of Congress...

I wrote this yesteday on my blog.

Once again, in an effort not to appear weak on national defense, the Democrats capitulate and look weak, period.

And even though Senator Obama understandably (and hopefully begrudgingly) voted in favor of the bill for political reasons, as he said he would, it's disappointing nonetheless. There isn't one Democrat with the "fuck you" attitude (that liberals and progressives yearn for) in a position to make a statement on a vote like this. Sure, Hillary Clinton voted for it, but what does she have to lose? Her statement by voting against the bill now is basically, "Fuck you, Barack." Call me cynical, but I'd venture to guess that if Hillary had won the nomination, she would have voted in favor of the bill as well.

Yes, it's a very sad day indeed to be a Democrat. And we should have nothing to say when the right wing nutbags pile on in the "kick 'em while they're down" stompfest. Let them have their giddy few days. Just take it and remember it. Don't forget it... and think about November.

I haven't seen Bush so excited about something in a long time. All hail the Unitary Executive!

I'm inclined to agree that Senator Clinton had the okay to vote in a way that allowed her to look different than Obama. She's second only to McSame in donations from the telecom industy.

But that doesn't exuse our great Democratic hope Obama from backing away from his progressive stance. Do you realize this makes him look like more of an idiot than Clinton and her fake snipers? WTF?
