Senator Obama Is A Smart Man

The article linked in the sidebar was more anecdotal and less academic - so, the same goal, but told through secondary sources instead of primary. It was interesting in how it portrays Senator Obama as more of a distant observer than an active participant in the inner workings of the UC law school, which seemed to bother his colleagues.
I showed that article to my friend, who is currently a 2L at the University of Chicago law school, and here was his reaction:
"That article is pretty consistent with what I've heard about him. I'm not surprised that it's Epstein criticizing him for being aloof. Epstein loves nothing more than a good argument.
I think he also wanted Obama to come up with crazy theories of his own and then defend them, since that's what Epstein does. His classes are meandering discussions about how the law should be. Someone will stop and ask him, "yeah, but do any courts do it that way?", and he just responds "of course not, but they should."
