Setting A Good Example
President Omar al-Bashir of Sudan has been indicted by the International Criminal Court on charges of genocide. And what did the Sudanese ambassador to the UN say in response?
As far as we are concerned, we are not members. We have been told these days repeatedly that the ICC is an independent body. And so, OK, if it’s an independent body, I am not a U.N. organ. We have full right to be part of it or not. And we choose not to be part of it, like the United States.
Are you like me? Is your heart swelling with pride?

Isn't that one of the treaties Bush "un-signed" when he first took office? Seriously how did we get here, and where's the exit?

I think you're all missing the one crucial fact here: They aren't us. Only we're us. U.S. It's right there in the name. And only the US can ignore international treaties...Seriously, who do these people think they are? US or something?
