Tour De Google
We can follow the Tour de France at street level via Google Maps.
Next thing... Google Doping!
(I know, I know. There are like two people here including me who dig cycling. Indulge me.)

That's sweet! When I do longer rides, I always take my GPS. I got the Google Earth pay version now (it's only $20 a year) and I can download my route from the GPS into it and go back through it. Pretty nice. Also TopoUSA is nice, as you can lay out routes and get an idea of the hills you have to fight (plus print strip maps if doing a long ride). Technology has been very kind to the cycling world.

I need to get me one of those GPS things. I still plot my rides on Google Maps by hand. Old school.
Meanwhile, I just climbed the Huez using the Google Maps TdF tool. My legs hurt.

Anyone who doesn't dig cycling has never paid attention. Best spectator sport in the world! Those dudes in the TDF are out of their minds.
July is the best month evahhhh!!!

Very cool.
Helps take my mind off the Obama FISA flip-flop.

It's now official: The ubernerdlingers at The Google have way, way too much time and money on their hands. When you can click "CLUSTERDOUCHE HEADQUARTERS" on The Google Maps and get live streaming video of me knocking one out to bootleg clips of Rhona Mitra's shower-and-hairbrush scene in Hollow Man, you'll know SkyNet has just become sentient and we're all extremely fucked.

Not that streaming video of me knocking one out to anything having to do with Rhona Mitra is rare or hard to come by, I'm fairly certain there's half a dozen or so YouTubes of same available today.
