E-Mail Of The Day
I have something thats bothering me in re something missing in the blogs and the MSM reportage on the "greatest moral failing" question. How is it that McCain gets to answer the good pastor Warren as to his greatest moral failing with "the failure of his first marriage"? Marriages sometimes fail, and for a variety of reasons, but the failure of a marriage is, in and of itself, NOT a moral failing, let alone a personal one inasmuch as there were two people in the marriage.
This answer is just a shuck and jive of his real moral failure, which was his disloyalty and infidelity WITHIN that marriage, purportedly while his first wife was particularly vulnerable and in need of support of various stripes, none of which included perfidy or ostensible turpitude, nor by implication including her in the moral failure because she was his wife and that marriage failed!
He obviously is incapable of taking ANY responsibility with this answer. I'm sure that at the time the good senator had a perverse and nauseating rational for the whole unsavory mess, just like he seems to have had and still does for some of his MO's in Hanoi, but I just can't seem to shake the feeling that based on this answer to pastor Warren's question, its more of the same old same old from way back when.
This guy McCain is a mess, war hero or not. --Robbie
Absolutely.

Great point--unbelievable that they will pt Obama through the ringer for "associations" (as flimsy or immaterial as they are), yet they will not question McSame at all, other than validate his "mavricky" war hero status--
The BBQers kept harping on the abortion line--and not McCain's $5 million gaffe, or the "1st marriage" dodge--Jack Cafferty mentioned the 1st marriage dodge yesterday, and Wolf as usual played dumb and swept it under the rug.
the other thing about the "life begins at conception" line that the media has LAUDED(besides the fact that most Americans are pro-choice)is that the media has failed to follow the logic of McCain's "crisp" answer in so far as how he feels about contraception and other reproductive issues--where's is the reporting on that? If they asked him that, he would stumble all over himself--

Well, I'd also like to add that if anyone believes McCrazy's answers at the talibangical forum were not rehearsed they haven't seen him talk much. Just today they showed him delivering his Stump Speech" from an off shore rig and, as usual, he couldn't repeat more than 6 words at a time without glancing down at his notes (or prompter).
Now, I really hope someone picks up on this!!!! I mentioned last night in a reply that I saw the end of Larry King Live last night and Pastor Warren made the "Osama - Obama" mistake! Yeah, mistake my ass!
It's in the Rush Transcript:
"MCCAIN: Defeat it. A couple points. One, if I'm president of the United States, my friends, if I have to follow him to the gates of hell, I will get Osama bin Laden and bring him to justice. I will do that and I know how to do it. I will get that guy. No one -- no one should be allowed to take thousands of American -- innocent American lives. Of course evil must be defeated."
(END VIDEO CLIP)
KING: What do you think of -- do you think he took the political route there, did Senator McCain?
WARREN: You know, Larry, here's another case where both of them made a very good point. In the first place, Barack mentioned the fact that there's evil in America, not just overseas. It's not just something out there. We do have evil in America. We have racism. We have injustice. We have poverty. We have rape, and all of the things that happen in the inner city, as well as in the suburbs. And that was a good point.
On the other hand, John was very clear that you can't negotiate with evil. You have to defeat it. Honestly, I think he was thinking not just of Obama, I think really what was on his heart too was this interest of Russia recently invading Georgia."

It's very near the end!
YES! Warren said (refering to McCain's defeating evil), "On the other hand, John was very clear that you can't negotiate with evil. You have to defeat it. Honestly, I think he was thinking not just of Obama".
A fair and balanced forum no doubt!

"the media has failed to follow the logic of McCain's "crisp" answer in so far as how he feels about contraception and other reproductive issues--where's is the reporting on that? If they asked him that, he would stumble all over himself--"
He did stumble... actually he froze. Remember the reporter who asked the insurance question about why Viagra is paid for but birth control pills aren't covered? Deer in the headlights. He couldn't even remember how he voted. And by the way, he said he'd get back to us on that. We're still waiting.
