Smart!

Steve Doocy on FOX News:

But the other thing about her, she does know about international relations because she is right up there in Alaska right next door to Russia.

By that logic, if she spends enough time with McCain, she'll become a POW, too.

I wish I could get paid to go on camera and say the dumbest shit I could possibly think of.

This move is such a transparent and cynical media play. I think it will end up being too cute by half.

I wonder if our corporate media will rake her over the coals for being "inexperienced" "we just don;t know her." "She needs to give us "specifics" on how she will govern."

Why do I think this decision was made after the speech last night--Hail Mary.

For the love of Mike... Doocy is more of a mentalist than I thought.

Only thing McCain could have done more brilliant, would be to have picked Britney!

Posted by: sdrDusty [TypeKey Profile Page] at August 29, 2008 1:54 PM

He may as well have chosen Michelle Bachmann.

Oh I can't wait for the Daily Show's take on this.

From Steve Chapman's Chicago Tribune Article:

"John McCain has described national security, defense, the war in Iraq and the war on terror as "the transcendent issues, the most important issues of our day." So who did he choose for his running mate? Someone who has zero acquaintance with those issues. "

By that logic, I should be appointed ambassador to India; after all, my next-door neighbor is from there.

Steve Doocy is "besotted" with Palin.

(thanks to Tom Brokaw for the vocabulary word of the day)

Posted by: LiveFreeOrDie08 [TypeKey Profile Page] at August 29, 2008 2:05 PM

Thats "Steve Douchey"

Posted by: CMLA [TypeKey Profile Page] at August 29, 2008 2:06 PM

Does "besotted" mean he has a boner?

Posted by: PackyJ [TypeKey Profile Page] at August 29, 2008 2:07 PM

I've hated Doocy since his days at WRC in D.C., he's an absolute chowderhead.

lol @ Steve Douchey

Just watched the video of her acceptance speech.. Biden is gonna tear her apart. CANNOT WAIT

I'm married to a baker. That has to do with food, right? Which has to do with nutrition, correct? So - especially considering I'm boffing the baker - that qualifies me to be Secretary of Health and Human Services ... hooray! Cupcakes for everyone!

Posted by: Readytohurl [TypeKey Profile Page] at August 29, 2008 2:17 PM

Readytohurl, maybe you've shown us McCain's plan to instill in Palin everything he would like to give her to make sure she's "ready on day one".

Posted by: LiveFreeOrDie08 [TypeKey Profile Page] at August 29, 2008 2:47 PM

By that logic, George Dubya Bush is an expert on foreign policy, because he lives in Crawford, TX, which is right next to Mexico and all.

Greetings from a newbie commentor, but long-time reader of this Goddamn Awesome Blog!

To continue with the theme....I work at a church. Perhaps I can convince Douchey that I am God.

Douchey is without a doubt, the absolutely dumbest personality on Fox "News". And considering that it is Fox, that's incredible.

He should not be allowed to walk outside unescorted.

Posted by: dc_wilson [TypeKey Profile Page] at August 29, 2008 9:27 PM

Doocy missed an opportunity to double down on his idiocy. After all, Alaska is not only 'next to' Russia, it also shares a very long border with Canada. That's twice the foreign policy experience poor Doocy claimed for Palin!

That is one of the most hilarious things I've ever read. I almost never run across anything I wish I'd written, because I'm that good (well, Bob, of course I find lots of stuff in YOUR pieces), but this was too simple and too perfect. Which mean I'm hereby stealing it.
