Why Quaylin?
McCain may want to improve his appeal among women voters, but he skipped right past more qualified Republican women -- women he actually knows -- such as Kay Bailey Hutchison, Elizabeth Dole, and Olympia Snowe, all of whom would have brought genuine credibility to a ticket.
Perhaps it's for the same reasons that FOX News has so many blonde fashion models as news "anchors" when there are literally thousands of more talented female broadcasters desperate for a cable news gig.
There's that and, if Palin had it her way, it would be illegal for rape victims to have a morning-after abortion.

Apparently Palin is a "pro-life-feminist." Like I said, nothing is more ass-backwards than Republican women.

I love the buzz word that has been picked up by the BBQers. "Interesting"
Carrot Top would have been an "interesting" pick as well...
This goes straight to McCain's judgment--his first major decision. This speaks volumes.

I know Sarah Palin.
Sarah Palin is Governor of my state.
Kay Bailey Hutchison, Elizabeth Dole, and Olympia Snowe are all no Sarah Palin.
Christ on a crutch.

Bob.... I've gotta tell ya..
I looked her and thought, "oh... sh-t."
I think that it's over. I would be surprised if he doesn't swing enough irrational Hilldabeast cult members to his side.

Apparently Palin's major qualification for the office was giving birth to a Downs Syndrome baby. Does that put her on par with McCain's primary accomplishment of enduring a POW camp? Do the Repubs think that they should be elected to the White House simply because they survived incredible hardship? Um, yes.

Since when is having a child w/ Down Syndrome child something someone "survives"?
I also saw a comment that having this child demonstrates her commitment to being pro-life. WTF?
And if she's such a fantastic parent, why on earth would she choose such a radical career move vs. family values?
And where do they expect she'll dock her Seaplane once she gets to Washington?

Bob, are you serious about Palin and McCain also being against the morning after pill even for rape victims? That's just horrible. I hope every woman realizes that the morning after pill is NOT the same as the abortion pill. Every woman should have this info. You can even use your OWN pills (they're just regular birth control pills). There are nearly 2 dozen brands that can be used. See the list here: http://ec.princeton.edu/questions/dose.html
Here's how they work:
As a general rule, emergency contraceptive pills are taken in two doses. You take the first dose as soon as possible (up to 120 hours after you have sex without using birth control, your birth control failed, or you were forced to have sex. You take the second dose 12 hours later (although being an hour or two early or late probably won’t make a difference in how effective the pills are). If you are using Plan B, you have the option of taking both doses at the same time. Keep in mind that emergency contraceptive pills are most effective the sooner they are taken after sex. Emergency contraceptive pills have no long-term or serious side effects, and it is safe for almost every woman to use them.
All women should check out this website (the morning after pill is NOT the abortion pill):

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Seaplane s/he says. Classic!
I was wondering the same thing, vis-à-vis the brilliance of having a Downs Baby. Congratulations, you produced a human with an extra 21st chromosome! You smell terrific! Here, be the second most powerful person on earth and let's let some total douche take care of your Downs Baby -- whom you called "Trig" just in case having Downs wasn't enough to ostracize him from normal folk -- while you busy yourself with, you know, helping run the fucking country and presiding over The Senate™.
Oh, wait, that’s right: you don’t know what a VP does every day, exactly!
Fucking Republican gimps. Panderass cynicadouches.

Leigh - Or, you could just do what Republicans wish all men could go back to doing: Punching their wives/mistresses in the uterus at about Week 6 and then having a free doughnut and a slap on the back when the cops show up to see What's All This Then.
Ah, the Good Old Days!

As payback for the video McSame did about Obama passing over Hillary...
Would someone please, PLEASE make an ad comparing his passing over of more qualified, less pretty, older Republican stateswomen for the wealthy, younger, beauty queen runner-up to him leaving his first, less pretty, more experienced wife for the wealthy, younger, beauty queen he's currently married to? I see a pattern.

LOL, Elvis. Shit, if I hadn't had a hysterectomy already, I'd be hoarding my damn birth control pills in case I ever needed the morning after pill. It's different from the abortion pill. I'm pro-choice, but if McCain/Palin win, I'd be stock piling my birth control pills in case I had an emergency. There are about 24 different brands listed on that website that a woman can use. Get 'em while still you can... It's much less painful than a coat hanger or flinging yourself down the steps or being punched in the uterus, of course.

Flinging yourself down the steps?! I thought that was Plan B to Elvis's punch in the uterus. Actually, after a couple of beers, you can do both! What's an extra flight of stairs between spouses? Nw 9:45PM
Buchanan complimenting the advance text of Senator Obama's speech? Whoa. I think I'm tripping. I can taste colors. Now that's love!

LiberalMilitia - that would be a gutsy and right minded thing to do. SO - here's what I propose. Anyone who can produce such a video - and really make it sensitive, and caring to women - while talking about Palin's genuine under-qualifications for the 2nd highest office in the land - PLEASE make the video - and put it up here: http://www.saysme.tv/
Quoting another poster on another blog:
"Thanks to the genius of SaysMeTV (a Venice, California, based company that buys cable advertisement space in bulk and sells 30 second spots to individuals) Get FISA Right has prepared and released its most ambitious project yet: a citizen funded television advertisement. GFR's talent rich group plus SaysMe's innovative airtime strategy is empowering supporters to fund it all over America. How much does 30 seconds of cable TV cost? Amazingly, not that much.
From $6 on CNBC in Cleveland to $2063 on ESPN in New York and everything in between, SaysMe has prices and networks for everyone. What is truly amazing about SaysMe is it brings the cookies of television advertisement down to the lower shelf. Anyone with a video camera, internet connection, and credit card can produce and distribute a message for the masses. The stranglehold that big media firms, large corporations, and wealthy citizens have over our airwaves is ending."

Unless the regulations that went out from HHS are reversed, birth control pills won't be an option for poor women, since the new regs say that they prevent implantation of a fertilized egg (they don't) and therefore are a form of abortion, which they will not fund.
