He's Lying Again
"If they want to go down that route, in all candor, she has far, far more experience than Senator Obama does."
That'd be a HUGE lie. But while it's awful and expected, it worries me.
As we have observed for eight-plus years, McBush Republicans are most effective when they lie -- because they're usually allowed to get away with it. To wit... everyone -- I mean, every single barbecue face on television today repeated the lie that Palin opposed and thwarted the bridge to blah blah when, in fact, she absolutely supported the project and campaigned on it. As history has shown, these very obvious lies tend to become fact (if repeated enough) and any after-the-fact attempt to debunk it tends to fail once voters have made up their minds. The Swift Boat Veterans for instance.

You point out something that just makes me want to vomit...
The MSM no longer questions Republican talking points; it's accepted as Gospel.
It's not just the "BBQ Media" (a relatively recent phenomenon) - they have behaved this way for 7+ years.
It's well known, the Dem's are the underdog and the Repubs are the "standard". The shift from 'objectivity' to 'acceptance' (of their corporate masters) by the media is the worst thing to happen in the last few years.

See, Mike "I Have A Giant Head But Very Little Hair" Murphy just threaded the needle on this whole issue, on Meet The Press (which I'm just now getting around to watching, thanks to The TiVO, and for once he's exactly right, though he doesn't actually answer his own question the way he should, which is to say that McCain fucked it all up big time by choosing the former rather than the latter:
The question is: What new voters will [Palin] bring to help McCain win in a tough year? Is this the year for a Base Pick or is it the year for more of a Ticket-Splitter Pick?
Yeah, chumly, it's the latter. McCain needed to grab voters like my dad, typically staunch Republicans that are disillusioned with Bush and may be thinking Obama but needed some serious reassurance in McCain's Veep. Sarah Palin does nothing to woo the Independents, period; McCain has lost, it's over, he picked the wrong side of the aisle and we're simply going to beat him by the numbers now. No amount of Base Invigoration will outmatch the new Democrats created in this primary season. He's done.

PS - Jesus The Christ™ Tom Brokaw is looking old and crotchety. They just cut away from Andrea Mitchell running her fucking mouth about something and Tom looked like my grandpa used to when he sucked on his creamed corn. *Shudder.*

The truth does not have two sets of facts. This is the result of Faux News' success and the success of the "liberal media" canard that has been repeated for thirty years.
This has enabled the "on the one hand, on the other hand" non-journalism that permeates our media today.

Holy shitballs. Cut from the round table to Maria Bartelomoromoromoloromo, who recently interviewed Sarah Palin, and she might as well be wearing a big fat POW-WOW '08 button for all the admiration she's got for this genius of the Energy World. Drill ANWR? Fuck yeah, Palin says it's cool! Energy Independence? She's your gal! "That's her comfort zone" Maria says. What the fuck.

Too true JG.
I check the Yahoo page from time to time and see the "Analysis" they do and, if I remember correctly, the headline on a Palin piece was to the effect, "Analysis: Palin may enahnce or hinder ticket" (wish I could remember the exact wording).
Nonetheless, it was so wishy-washy that it could not be construed as analysis. Well, some fols may think it was...but that's not for me to say.

Seriously, the more Maria Bartelomoromoroemolomero runs her hot, hot mouth the more she shills for Palin. According to Maria, Palin had "opinions" on the economy and on "economic growth overall" and then suddenly Maria goes into this passionate diatribe, blustering:
And-and-and the truth is, Tom, that energy is a big part of that! I mean that really is one of the biggest issues we face...
Maria Bartelomoeroomroomow, ladies and gentlemen: super-shill.

Well, gentlemen -I think it might be wise to spell out just what you mean. I agree that Palin isn't an ideal VP choice, but in terms of years in formally elected office, Palin does have more experience. Here's the record:
Palin
1992-1996 City Council
1996-2006 - Mayor
2006 - present - Governor
Obama
1997 -2005 - Illinois Senate
2005 - present - US Senate
OK - I know that comparing sitting on City Council for Wasilka, city of 7000+ is quite different from serving on State Senate for Illinois, state of 12,000,000+, but I also know that 6 years executive experience has to be counted (and I agree that Barack's 18 month executive experience has to be counted, but that still gives Sarah a numerical advantage - this one both in length and numbers).
Honestly - I think fussing and carrying on about McCain's choice is a losing proposition. She's the choice. Time to fight the ticket where it hurts - on the issues.

Bushie was a governor with even more experience in governing that Palin, and we all know how THAT turned out. Next.
