Liveblogging The RNC - Day Four

6:29PM
One more night of this craptastical journey into the depths of far-right stupid. I'll be over at Huffington Post again, so use this as a liveblog thread.

12:09AM
Wow. 380 comments. I didn't think the McBush show would be that pulse-pounding for you. Anyway, my Huffington liveblog of Day Four is here. Onward to the debates! Cheers!

Damn it. I forgot to refill my valium!

And I'm out of wine...

Let's start on a happy note - the Obama campaign has raised over $8 million since Caribou Barbie's speech last night. Well done everyone!

Posted by: amaraya [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 06:34 PM

Before the fun begins, let me sneak in here and give you a great big hug and a thank you!!!

You have a stronger stomach for the media than I do, Bob. This week I've laid low, trying to maintain the optimism and hope from the DNC, which now seems like ages ago.

I can't get past the hate, the racism, the hypocrisy, the pretzel logic, the lack of compassion demonstrated by the other party and their MSM enablers. Thank god, you can!! Keep on 'em, Bob.

Your loyal friend,
~K

I LOVE Rachel Maddow--she just made Stephen Hayes look foolish--can't wait for her show. He just made a number of false or misleading assertions, and she was there to call him on every one. Ahhhhhhh, the truth--what a concept.

Posted by: JG [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 06:45 PM

Trace Adkins - star of the upcoming blockbuster "American Carol", right? And it begins...

Posted by: amaraya [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 06:55 PM

Maddow rules!

Okay, I've got my Obama Underoos-and-bra and beer (and was one of the 130k to make another donation today after I recovered from the crap shoveled at me last night--shrilly in some cases). I rarely drink. I think, for my mental health, that I will have to either watch this shite solo or only do the live blog. Since the live blog and drinking are not a good mix, I may be in the hot tub alone. Damn.

Posted by: dontpanic23 [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 06:58 PM

McCain is scheduled to speak between 9 and 10pm after his video.I suppose any later would be past his bedtime.

Posted by: Broadway Carl [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 06:58 PM

Caribou Barbie ........... priceless!

Posted by: kansasdem [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 07:01 PM

Ah, the masochists queue up for another one... And I'm out of bourbon... Not sure if I'll make it thru... So much bullshit and so little time to debunk it.

But alas, the truth-seekers are once again united at the brilliant Mr. Bob Cesca's blog...

Cheers friends!

Let the memes begin!

Here we go again with Democrats blocking "driil, baby, drill! After 1 1/2 years of a slim majority in the House and a virtually non-existent majority in the Senate we Dems are responsible for high gas prices!

Please! Shoot me!

Posted by: kansasdem [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 07:05 PM

Everyone heard the uppity comment today right?

Posted by: Brad [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 07:17 PM

Brad - oh yeah. I was worried we'd reach election day without a Republican elected official using the word "uppity" to describe Obama, but they never let me down!

Posted by: amaraya [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 07:18 PM

Ensign praising Saint Reagan!

That's a pig we're long overdue to take the lipstick off of!

Reagan was no saint! He ran this country into the toilet we're still in!

Clinton gave us a small reprieve, but otherwise we're still headed into the crapper!

Posted by: kansasdem [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 07:20 PM

Wait a second - He's starting his speech at 9:11 his time??? ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME??

I'm sorry - this constant use of 9/11 for political gain is disgusting. This is just ridiculous.

Posted by: amaraya [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 07:28 PM

And here's Colbert showing America what a special kind of moron Lynn Westmoreland (the rep from GA that used "uppity" to describe the Obama's) really is!

CLASSIC!

How come people from Alaska don't say "of America" when they say "United States"? I noticed that twice in Palin's speech yesterday and the Alaska delegate just did the same thing. Is that some kind of code for the Independence Party?

Posted by: MakeitStop [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 07:35 PM

"I'm sorry - this constant use of 9/11 for political gain is disgusting. This is just ridiculous."

amaraya,

Especially when you consider that the warning to Bush about an impending attack was met by, "All right. You've covered your ass, now."

It's like saying, "we've fucked you every time you've needed our help, let us do it some more"!

Posted by: kansasdem [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 07:36 PM

OMG. Now they want us to drill holes into their heads.

Posted by: MakeitStop [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 07:39 PM

Here's a guy talking about how caribou will snuggle up to the warm pipelines when we drill in anwar!

Posted by: amaraya [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 07:39 PM

PREDICTION: McCain will call for drilling in ANWR tonight.--and if that happens, the BBQ media will eat it up--facts be damned.

Posted by: JG [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 07:39 PM

Marsha Blackburn is talking about women not allowing men to tell them when "they've reached too far!!!"

Wait a minute, didn't Hillary sort of reach a little higher, accomplish more and the only reason she isn't the Dem nominee is because her campaign was run by a truly inept group of people?

Posted by: JohnGalt [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 07:45 PM

Caribou Barbie!! I just got it!! Duheeee...

Posted by: midad [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 07:49 PM

just watched CNN fact check Palin's lie laden speech--pointed out the falsehoods and contradictions, but the tone was very much NO BIGGIE--mmmmmmmm BBQ.

Posted by: JG [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 07:50 PM

Can I just take a moment to say Thank GOD this is almost over?

Posted by: amaraya [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 07:53 PM

Did anyone else have Sarah Palin nightmares last night? I woke up in a cold sweat sreaming, "COMMUNITY ORGANIZER!" My wife had to calm me down and tell me to stop blogging so late.

Posted by: Broadway Carl [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 07:57 PM

Isn't it scary that behind the scenes Palin is getting a crash course on foreign policy? She'll basically be a carbon copy of McCain's perspective. Somehow I can't picture Obama sitting Biden down and saying "Okay, here's where we stand on everything." Nope, two intelligent people who can share each of their ideas and probably debate some things.

Posted by: MakeitStop [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 07:58 PM

Hey! An Iraq vet on MSNBC ticking off the talking points list - agent of change - reach across party lines - they really train them well, don't they?

Posted by: Broadway Carl [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 07:59 PM

"Here's a guy talking about how caribou will snuggle up to the warm pipelines when we drill in anwar!"

amaraya,

Yeah, and science be damned! Fuck the permafrost! Who gives a shit when you're headed towards Soylent Green!

Posted by: kansasdem [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:00 PM

"just watched CNN fact check Palin's lie laden speech--pointed out the falsehoods and contradictions, but the tone was very much NO BIGGIE--mmmmmmmm BBQ."

JG,

Is "lie laden" a cousin to Bin Laden? Maybe she's an underground terrorist!

Posted by: kansasdem [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:04 PM

"How dare people question Sarah Palin on her experience!"

Posted by: MakeitStop [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:05 PM

$10 million raised by Obama since Palin speech. EAT IT, REPUBLICANS! Just heard Sen. Lingle (R) Hawaii, interviewed by Andrea Mitchell. It really is amazing how the GOP can get those talking points out. Who keeps the master fax list?

Posted by: Broadway Carl [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:08 PM

"How dare people question Sarah Palin on her experience!"

MakeitStop,

Or her most extremist views!

How dare we?

Posted by: kansasdem [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:08 PM

Eric Kantor - "She (Palin) doesn't need to talk about the middle class. She IS the middle class."

WHAAAAAA?!?!??!

Posted by: Broadway Carl [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:10 PM

If they make fun of her for taking 6 years or whatever to get a degree, Rove will ram that back down their throats. Oh, she's not Ivy League enough for you?

Posted by: MakeitStop [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:12 PM

@ MakeitStop - it's not the fact that it took her 6 years, it's the fact that she went to 6 colleges in 6 years. What the fuck is up with that?!

Posted by: Broadway Carl [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:13 PM

Chris Matthews is slurring his speech. Either he's drunk or having a stroke. Wait he's drooling... oh, nevermind. He always does that.

Posted by: Broadway Carl [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:16 PM

Is that true, Carl? I thought she went to the Univ. of Idaho (the "I may be broke but I'm not flat-busted" t-shirt). Was that only for like 1 semsester?

Posted by: ceu [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:19 PM

Posted by: Broadway Carl [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:23 PM

Arrrgh, my Snowflake Senator just spoke.

I'll be back after I vomit a few times!

Posted by: kansasdem [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:23 PM

@ ceu- I didn't mean to exaggerate. It was FIVE colleges in 6 yrs. Not six.

Posted by: Broadway Carl [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:24 PM

One of those colleges was in the EXOTIC locale of Honolulu, Hawaii.

Posted by: Broadway Carl [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:25 PM

hi! Sorry I'm late.

Posted by: jane [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:27 PM

anyone watching orally interview Obama tonite?

Posted by: jane [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:28 PM

Oh for fuck sake! They're using the OKC bombing for political gain?

How? The assholes that did this were radical conservatives!

I may really have to start drinking heavily!

Posted by: kansasdem [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:28 PM

what time is that on, jane?

Posted by: mme6546 [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:29 PM

"anyone watching orally interview Obama tonite?"

Huh, I knew Obama agreed to going on Faux news, but did he agree to go on during McCain's acceptance speech?

If so that was stupid!

Posted by: kansasdem [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:31 PM

Madame 6546, 8 pm EDT but apparently he's holding him for the end segment. I'm taping, just repeating an internets rumor

Posted by: jane [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:32 PM

fucking sick bastards.

Posted by: mme6546 [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:32 PM

"what time is that on, jane?"

I'm not Jane, but it's on right fucking now!

Posted by: kansasdem [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:33 PM

Hey, 9/11 pandering time. Video tribute to victims of 9/11. Iran hostages, USS Cole, Osama Bin Laden. AND THERE IT IS! The World Trade Center. Motherfuckers...

Fearmongering 101. Waiting for the chants of USA! USA!

I fear Bob may be right about the effigy thing.

Posted by: Broadway Carl [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:34 PM

I know!!! 8pm!! Sick bastards!!

Oh. Never mind.

Posted by: jane [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:34 PM

What the hell is this??

Is this not the creepiest thing? This is like propoganda!

"And kill us, they did... The enemies are wrong. America will win"....

This is bizarre

Posted by: amaraya [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:34 PM

McCain's motorcade tonite is apparently smaller than his convoy to Starbucks the other day.

Posted by: jane [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:35 PM

ty much. :)
i may switch over to that if/when this gets unbearable.
sorry 'bout that....IMing at the same time, and the 9/11 "tribute" came on....
i want to kick something.

Posted by: mme6546 [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:35 PM

There it is! I called it. USA! USA! USA!

Posted by: Broadway Carl [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:35 PM

If Obama knew this was going to be aired the same time as the last day of the RNC this was totally boneheaded!

Posted by: kansasdem [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:36 PM

OMG

Keith!! YES

Posted by: amaraya [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:36 PM

Hi folks..i just wanted to thank you all for amusing me and keeping me company during this incredible awfulness. I cannot bring myself to watch, so I will be relying on your keen insights to paint a picture the goings on in Minnesota.

Continue...

Posted by: cminri [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:37 PM

KO is flipping out. Paraphrasing: "If we as a network showed that much 9/11 graphic footage, we would be eviscerated, and rightly so."

Posted by: Broadway Carl [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:38 PM

damn heartless souless bastards...
i live in ct.
you could see the smoke from the beach by my house.
if there is one iota of justice in this sad sad sad world, what Kieth just said will be echoed everywhere.

Posted by: mme6546 [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:39 PM

Damn it!!!! What did Keith say?!?!?

Posted by: cminri [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:40 PM

@ mme - I live in NYC. Worked an overnight gig and came out to panic in the streets. I saw one of the towers collapse through my rear view mirror. Just typing about it makes me upset. But I have to say, I'm not surprised they played the 9/11 card. I almost expected it.

Posted by: Broadway Carl [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:44 PM

The teleprompters aren't working?? HA!

Posted by: ceu [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:46 PM

Now it appears that was an excerpt from a future pre-recorded interview!

Consider the timing!

And earlier today I saw a Palin bio on FOX that was clearly biased to her adavntage!

It's time to boycott every product advertised on Faux propaganda network!

Posted by: kansasdem [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:47 PM

i was reading on another blog and someone stated that Jesus was a community organizer. and Pontius Pilate was a governor

Posted by: beil75 [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:47 PM

@ carl..
me too.
except im a fucking sucker, and i WAS surprised...how can they DO that?!? and then go to commercial like its fucking nothing.....

Posted by: mme6546 [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:47 PM

YES!!!!
THERE IS A GOD, AND HE BROKE MCCAINS TELEPROMPTER!!!

Posted by: mme6546 [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:49 PM

McCain will have to rescind that veto on beer and take a couple of swigs before his speech sans teleprompter - although it may work to his advantage because he sucks at that too. The cynic in me thinks it's all a ruse. It'll magically work just before he comes on, and the McCainstream Media will gush over his calm, cool, collected self before realizing it was "fixed."

Posted by: Broadway Carl [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:52 PM

Dudes. I'm on DVR delay, and you are telling current me that future me gets to see McCain w/o his talky points???

Posted by: jane [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:53 PM

Hi kids, new guy here (liberal artist for obama)
I'd like to vent my disgust here if you don't mind.
I doubled my wine ration from last night and have already taken my advil, so I'm good to go.

Off to a banner start with the fear, and more importantly, the revenge card......
And Oooops, it seems they're having problems with the tele-prompter..... isn't THAT good for McCain too?

Posted by: gallery [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:53 PM

Hey..anyone checking Bob's Liveblogging on HuffPo too? I just refreshed and it says its closed for comments...wtf?!??

Posted by: cminri [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:53 PM

And in Afghanistan... What? Where?

Posted by: JohnGalt [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:53 PM

Wasn't watching (repeat of Colbert was on...priorities) so if someone will be so kind as to what it was the RNC showed re: 9/11? I'm in CT, too, mme, but about 100 miles from NYC. I knew only one person who died in the Towers, but I have noticed that people directly affected by that day are LESS likely to support the GOP.

Posted by: ceu [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:54 PM

Lindsey Graham makes me puke. Touting the surge. So if it's working and we succeeded, can we leave now, please?

Posted by: Broadway Carl [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:54 PM

Lindsey Graham must be sucking helium. That would explain the voice and the assertion that "the surge has worked."

Posted by: KatinWilm [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:54 PM

I thought Barack Obama's campaign was built around change? If it really is about the R's being wrong in Iraq, Obama for America's messaging sux...

Eat a bucket of shit, Graham...

Posted by: JohnGalt [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:56 PM

Hi ya, gallery. Rant away!

Posted by: ceu [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:56 PM

John McCain is RESPONSIBLE for the surge working! Wow! I didn't know that! I guess I WILL vote for him.

Hey, Barack Obama has "buddies" at MoveOn.org according to Graham. And now he's saying that McCain going against his party was political suicide. I would've just settled for suicide.

Posted by: Broadway Carl [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:57 PM

Welcome gallery, it appears you are joining quite a budding group of drinkers in there... But is there any other way to watch this tripe?

Posted by: JohnGalt [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:58 PM

They even closed the comments for Andy Borowitz and his hilarious diary of Levi the sperm donor.
Things are getting pretty tight assed over there.
P.S. I can't stand Lindsey

Posted by: gallery [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:59 PM

re the 9/11 video- I keep rewinding cause it sounds like a bad political commercial:
"The first attack began in Iran (1980)"

Posted by: jane [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:59 PM

dude....
he's sucking on something....but i dont think its helium.

Posted by: mme6546 [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:59 PM

Man, I wish the USA still governed by the rule of law... Just another casualty of outsourcing I 'spose....

Posted by: JohnGalt [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:59 PM

is it just me, or does the army guy look real uncomfortable?

Posted by: mme6546 [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 08:59 PM

Good to see the Reverend Sum Yung Moon and his lovely wife...

Posted by: JohnGalt [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:01 PM

FOX news should be declared as a political entity after tonights bull shit!

Every dollar they get from advertising should count against RNC money collected!

Money whores! And the money whores are responsible for todays financial crisis.

Posted by: kansasdem [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:01 PM

Graham just stole Obama's line: " I'm not saying Barack Obama doesn't care, I'm saying that he doesn't get it." This whole speech is the mirror image of last week, only this time Obama was wrong on the surge and McCain was right.

Disgusting, they can't even create their own speeches.

Posted by: Broadway Carl [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:02 PM

damnit....
i keep getting outraged, starting to type, then RE-outraged, and forgetting what i WAS typing...and i end up with a lot of garbled swearing and "!!1!!11"
i hafta put my brain on six second delay or something.

Posted by: mme6546 [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:03 PM

WE achieved victory.... we're on the road to victory?
WTF dude... pick a tense and run with it.

Posted by: gallery [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:03 PM

Hey, wait a minute... I thought McCain was the maverick.... That'd make her "Goose."

Insert creepy, forced John McCain smile here:

Posted by: JohnGalt [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:03 PM

The Palin video? NOW?!?!

Posted by: Broadway Carl [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:03 PM

Pathetic!

Posted by: kansasdem [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:04 PM

@ carl....i dont think they've had an original thought since regan.....

Posted by: mme6546 [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:04 PM

With very cheesy sythesizer music to boot. Goddamn, these people are stuck a good 25 years behind the technology. I'm guessing they'll discover cell phones in a few years.

Posted by: Broadway Carl [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:05 PM

A love for the environment?! DRILL BABY DRILL!!!!!!

Oh, and if the surge worked and we're winning, why does Sarah Palin's son have to be deployed to Iraq on September 11th of this year?

Hmmmmmmm....

Posted by: JohnGalt [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:05 PM

Mother, moosehunter, maverick....oh, puke.
How many times have they said "maverick"?? Obviously, they don't know what that word means.

Posted by: ceu [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:06 PM

Do you think lindsey wore his cock ring while he practiced this macho pinnochio fest in front of his mirror?

Posted by: gallery [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:06 PM

Since we're all drinkers...how about a new drinking game? Take a shot every time Palin or McCain is referred to as a "maverick" tonight.

Posted by: KatinWilm [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:06 PM

This Palin video is awful.

Posted by: Broadway Carl [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:07 PM

Mini McMaverick

Posted by: gallery [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:07 PM

Obviously, they don't know what that word means. I don't know what they think it means, but I always substitute the word "cocksucker" for "maverick."

Posted by: Broadway Carl [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:09 PM

yea it is....

Posted by: mme6546 [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:10 PM

According to the 9/11 video we'll be safe if we JUST DON'T BELIEVE IN GOD.

Posted by: jane [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:10 PM

Hey, where's Elvis tonight?!?!

Posted by: cminri [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:10 PM

the 9/11 video never really says who this "THEY" are

Posted by: jane [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:13 PM

I don't know, but I'm missing Mr. The Elvis Dingeldein's wit.

Posted by: Broadway Carl [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:13 PM

You know what would have made a great 9/11 tribute? CATCHING THE MOTHERFUCKERS WHO DID IT.

Posted by: jane [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:14 PM

the 9/11 video never really says who this "THEY" are

THEY = non-Whites. Didn't you know that, Jane? No offense to whiteys here of course. Anyone different than they are, are the enemy.

Posted by: Broadway Carl [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:15 PM

Can somebody please saw one of the legs off of tom brokaws' chair....... PLEASE?

Posted by: gallery [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:16 PM

Mini McMaverick I like that. Mind if I borrow it??

Why the fuck is Cindy Lou speaking again?? Can you imagine if Michelle Obama had hogged all the speech time at the DNC?! Maybe they can't find enough speakers to fill the time....

Posted by: ceu [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:18 PM

"Since we're all drinkers...how about a new drinking game? Take a shot every time Palin or McCain is referred to as a "maverick" tonight."

Since you suggested this, I'm willing to bet one of us would die before the end of this evening...

Posted by: JohnGalt [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:19 PM

I think Chris Matthews has been hitting the same bottle I have tonight.

And how can we forget that McCain is a war veteran...he reminds us EVERY SINGLE DAY!!!

Posted by: KatinWilm [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:19 PM

McCain is a war veteran? Well, I guess I'll vote for him then!

Posted by: Broadway Carl [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:20 PM

"Obviously, they don't know what that word means. I don't know what they think it means, but I always substitute the word "cocksucker" for "maverick."

LMAO!!!!

Good one Broadway Carl...

JohnGalt....I'm just trying to be as numb as possible before McCain starts speaking...

And because of all of these lame biographies, I'LL NEVER WATCH ANOTHER MOVIE WITH GARY SINISE IN IT AGAIN....

Posted by: JohnGalt [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:22 PM

Is that Gary Sinise narrating the McCain video? Man...and I sorta liked CSI:NY....

Posted by: KatinWilm [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:22 PM

Do you think they'll skip the part where Cindy starts whoring around with a married veteran who needs help getting dressed? And then meets John McCain because she just can't stop sucking married cock?

Posted by: Broadway Carl [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:22 PM

Borrow away, and thanks for the welcome.

Btw, where is that palin prop that cindy lou was pretending to touch last night?

Poor kid, don't they know that babies need sleep and fresh diapers, like their candidate for prez?

Posted by: gallery [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:23 PM

Well, at least we know Lt. Dan is still following Forrest Gump around...

I can just see McCain right now:

Lt. John, ice creeaammm!

Posted by: JohnGalt [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:23 PM

John meeting Cindy.... "He was 41" and MARRIED!!!

Posted by: KatinWilm [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:23 PM

Aww, lying from the start about their ages. And a continued relationship of lies and deceit was born.

Posted by: Broadway Carl [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:24 PM

And then she stole Vicodin from her own charity and got off with probation...

Posted by: JohnGalt [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:25 PM

Cindy Lou video - he lied about his age, she lied about hers. It was love at first sight (they omitted the part about him being married at the time) A match made in heaven, don't you agree?

Posted by: ceu [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:25 PM

Cindy's a pilot and bought an airplane from some idiot deciding to sell one on Ebay.

Posted by: Broadway Carl [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:27 PM

The Cindy McCain video was officially the most nauseating thing I have ever sat through. "Make the world a better place"??? Perhaps she could convince her husband to drop out of the presidential race...that would be a good start.

Posted by: KatinWilm [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:28 PM

Is it me or did they skip a couple of minor points? It must just be me...

Posted by: Broadway Carl [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:28 PM

What happened to her cast? Will it be back tomorrow?? I kinda miss its ever changing colors...

Posted by: ceu [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:29 PM

WHY THE FUCK IS THIS WOMAN SPEAKING AGAIN??
Enough! Enough already!

Posted by: ceu [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:31 PM

Duty... Travelled country...beep...boop... beep... Does not compute. Does not compute. Beep.

Posted by: Broadway Carl [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:31 PM

Cindy's looking pulled a little extra tight tonight...

It looks like she decided to plaster on the makeup like a trollop, that c***.

Posted by: JohnGalt [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:31 PM

Yes, Cindy...families are worried about losing their homes...because we don't have 7 to fall back on.

Posted by: KatinWilm [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:31 PM

Cindy said it! It must be true. Government just needs to get out of our way!

Same old shit! After the taxpayer bails out the fat cats!

Posted by: kansasdem [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:33 PM

UGH!!! I can't take it! Lincoln again. Fuck these people.

Posted by: Broadway Carl [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:33 PM

Cindy could help a few of us out here in Realityville by selling her banana dress on Ebay and paying off a few our our mortgages...

Posted by: cminri [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:34 PM

We love Cindy! We love Cindy!

Posted by: Broadway Carl [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:34 PM

I just realized tha John S. must be packing serious wood!

Posted by: kansasdem [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:35 PM

There are three fire trucks on my street right now, one's a crane truck (one story houses here, folks!) and I can't see anything.

Posted by: jane [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:35 PM

I hit a homerun with John McCain, but then I had to retire from baseball because he kept breaking my arm in manic rages.

Posted by: Broadway Carl [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:36 PM

@ jane - maybe they're there to fix your cable?

Posted by: Broadway Carl [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:37 PM

Pistol packin' mama!

kansasdem...that is a disturbing mental image....

Posted by: KatinWilm [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:38 PM

That was an interesting description of Palin... did anyone hear "foreign policy wonk" in that diatribe?

POW
POW
POW

Posted by: Broadway Carl [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:39 PM

Hmmmm, she must've really loved her daddy to have married just as shitty a pilot...

Posted by: JohnGalt [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:40 PM

Our son Jack will graduate from the Naval Academy next year, hopefully a little higher than 894th of 899 in his class. We're shooting to break 850!

Posted by: Broadway Carl [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:41 PM

First Palin packing a pistol and now her son is strapping on his weapons....Cindy's got a thing about firepower, doesn't she?

Posted by: KatinWilm [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:41 PM

Michelle Obama she IS NOT...

Posted by: JohnGalt [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:41 PM

Why the hell am I watching this shit?

I live in a town and county that's more than 80% Republican?

What the fuck is wrong with me?

Posted by: kansasdem [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:42 PM

I live in a town and county that's more than 80% Republican?

Time to move, KansasDem.

Posted by: Broadway Carl [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:43 PM

So much rage and so little resolve... But we'll stay above the fray, much as Obama has, and not slam their well-fed children...

What?

I said "so little resolve..." Thankfully Senator Obama has much more resolve than I.

Posted by: JohnGalt [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:44 PM

I'm just getting in. Did Cindy mention that her old man was prosecuted by the Feds "and convicted of multiple counts of falsifying liquor records in a conspiracy to conceal illegal distribution of whiskey against post-war rationing regulation"? Did she mention that in the whole Western Values thing? Or that he was partners with a bookie and had ties to organized crime? Anyone? Anything?

Posted by: Elvis Dingeldein [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:45 PM

Pretty gutsy move to show all her surgeries through the years.

Posted by: gallery [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:46 PM

How many times can you vomit before it causes serious medical problems?

Posted by: kansasdem [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:46 PM

Did I miss something? It's usually the State of the Union addresses when they starting whoring out children and "heroes." Perhaps since they know they won't make it to the State of the Union, they are getting it in now.

Posted by: KatinWilm [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:46 PM

She's blinking a bit slowly, I think. Perhaps pulled to tight or maybe back on the Vicodin?

Posted by: JohnGalt [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:46 PM

Let's take a good close look at you, Cindy Lou. Where do they hide the nip/tuck staples? What's the tensile strength of the cables they have to lay under that face job to keep it that taut?

Posted by: Elvis Dingeldein [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:47 PM

Yo! Elvis is in the house!

Posted by: kansasdem [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:47 PM

Howdy Elvis. And no, and neither did she mention John being married when they met

Posted by: jane [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:47 PM

Rode hard, and put away wet.

I'm cindy lou and I'll take your man.

Posted by: gallery [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:48 PM

Elvis! Welcome! No, she ran out of time for those points...but she did manage to talk about Mother Theresa, Vietnam and "Straight Talk." You know....the ones they put on the Cindy-bot teleprompter.

Posted by: KatinWilm [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:48 PM

John McCain - a loyal, loving, and true husband...unwavering...devoted to his family...always keeps his word...his vow is his bond
What's wrong with this picture? Oh right...the wife he lied to and cheated on.

Posted by: ceu [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:49 PM

I stopped listening about 10 minutes ago. My brain is offically numb. I see her lips moving, but she's speaking jibberish. I think I'm stroking out.

Posted by: Broadway Carl [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:49 PM

I'm longing for the dowdy librarian from crawford....... she at least knew when to shut the fuck up.

Posted by: gallery [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:50 PM

Now, this pisses me off! I'll never be able to enjoy Johny be good again!

Posted by: kansasdem [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:50 PM

Did they mention in the Cindy Video that her old man was given a liquor license even though he had a felony on the books and shouldn't have been allowed one? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

Posted by: Elvis Dingeldein [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:50 PM

@ ceu - She wasn't talking about his first wife and family, silly.

Posted by: Broadway Carl [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:52 PM

And Sarah's letting Levi get awful close to the youngest daughter.

I guess it's all good as long as it's in the family!

Posted by: kansasdem [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:53 PM

This is an Amway commercial right?
Do I have to buy some soap or something to be able to stop watching?

Posted by: gallery [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:53 PM

The Cindy bio video was horrible. Did you notice that "she got all of Daddy's time"? And he had two other daughters...but, as a devoted father, he lavished his time on her!

Posted by: ceu [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:54 PM

@ Elvis - No, they kinda skimmed over the minor points, the felonies, the investigations, the scandals, the infidelity... they got the POW thing in though and how he doesn't like to make it an issue.

Posted by: Broadway Carl [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:55 PM

I haven't seen the black guy yet.

Seriously! They pan out and it's nothing but white on white!

Posted by: kansasdem [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:56 PM

They're playing the Dallas theme song!

POW

Posted by: kansasdem [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 09:58 PM

Kansasdem...you missed the "Hispanics 4 McCain" guy? They showed him at least twice.... Bet they'll show him again too since he's the only one they've got.

That is a serious vanilla crowd though...

Wait....he didn't love his country until he was a POW????? OMG.....

Posted by: KatinWilm [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:00 PM

WTF? Wasn't that a black-and-white picture of Ahmadinejad?

Posted by: Elvis Dingeldein [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:00 PM

Why do I have a feeling they're going to skip from POW to Senate post Keating 5?

Posted by: Broadway Carl [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:00 PM

Where in history? Uh...fuck, I don't know, let me go way the fuck back to...uh...Kennedy? Eisenhower? Grant?

Posted by: Elvis Dingeldein [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:01 PM

Kennedy got his ship cut in half, swam 7,000 miles with 50 sailors on his back, ate a dozen sharks and built a nuclear device out of a fucking coconut to blow up Hiroshima. Suck THAT, McCain!

POWPOWPOW!

Posted by: Elvis Dingeldein [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:02 PM

Yeah, they skipped it.

Posted by: Broadway Carl [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:02 PM

How these douchebags talk about "keeping your money in your own pocket"
How the fuck do they think they get paid?

Posted by: gallery [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:03 PM

Wow.... THUNDEROUS APPLAUDS

Posted by: gallery [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:05 PM

The McCain Bio over and over and over and over... Just once, I'd like to hear about his policies, the issues he represents... What does he stand for? All they talk about is the past, what about the future?

They don't say because the special interests haven't told him yet. Just like GWB....

But you know who I think is more like GWB than McCain?

Sarah Palin...

Posted by: JohnGalt [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:05 PM

Did they have to black the stadium out like that so no one saw them wheel McCain in on a stretcher and prop him up?

Posted by: Elvis Dingeldein [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:07 PM

God help us all. I don't know if I can take this.

Posted by: Broadway Carl [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:07 PM

Posted by: jane [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:09 PM

What's with the green background? Didn't they learn from the cottage cheese/lime green jello fiasco back in June?

Posted by: KatinWilm [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:10 PM

You folks are brave!

I'm watching the SC/Vandy game, but bless you all for making it through that nauseating experience.

Just a side note; I made mention last night to a co-worker that I was going to watch the RNC and drink some wine and yell at my TV. I was just making a joke, but she thought it funny to bring that up at a lunch today for another co-worker that is leaving us.

What a spectacle! All of my co-worker's started bad-mouthing O with MSM talking points and talking about McCain the maverick (as Carl pointed out - I should have replaced that with "cocksucker").

I tried to explain about some of the exaggerations that Palin and other made last night and they just scoffed and said, "oh, all politicians are the same".

It's pretty sad...I should know better than to talk politics at work, but it's just sad to see that my co-workers (middle-class all) actually buy into this Republican whatever (ok, lie).
So…from this rant…thanks for the outlet and it’s nice to share comments/snark/links with like-minded folks!

Posted by: The Space Cowboy [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:10 PM

OMG! They're doing it with a green screen? Did they learn NOTHING?? (rhetorical question)

I HATE fucking typekey!

Um...correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Bush grow the government bigger than any other pres?

Is he making a new Republican party here? There has to be some kind of disconnect here.

Posted by: The Space Cowboy [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:33 PM

Is there a "Boo" prompter facing the audience? Pray tell, Senator McCain. Please tell us what you propose. Ahhh... trickle down economics. I suppose it could work....

He's gonna train you to polish his shoes!

My friends, social security is DEAD if I become the boss

Posted by: gallery [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:34 PM

Space- I read (and have more on my list) New Phoenix times articles on mcCain...and cindy's little problem...etc. well known in phoenix?

Posted by: jane [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:35 PM

@ Katin - Great minds.... I'm shutting it down at work. See you guys ASAP at home. Let me know what happens. I'm guessing nothing.

Posted by: Broadway Carl [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:35 PM

My retinas are starting to fry out on the electric blue background. Instead of lime jello, it looks like cottage cheese floating in a pool of Berry Blue Kool Aid.

Posted by: KatinWilm [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:35 PM

Carl, We're beyond trickle down.

It's now a matter of eating the undigested kernels in the the big bosses shit!

Posted by: kansasdem [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:36 PM

These people aren't even listening. They're applauding at every pause. Now he's on education. Aren't public schools a SOCIALIST idea?

Posted by: Broadway Carl [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:37 PM

Another grinning chimp!

Posted by: kansasdem [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:38 PM

Oh, shit. Trickle down really means pissed on. Been there, done that. Didn't like it.

Posted by: ceu [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:38 PM

@ Jane. Well known among a certain demographic, but it seems to be ignored by most.

And the New Times reporters do some damn fine work too!

Posted by: The Space Cowboy [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:38 PM

Thought bubble over the crowd.

My GOD Biff, when can I get that fucking whiskey sour?
This speech is as stiff as my brooks brother shirt.

Posted by: gallery [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:38 PM

Ohhhhhh, that was the Obama Underoo Creaming Moment just then: Read it wrong off the prompter, hit the wrong two words, stop, BACK UP, try again, hit the RIGHT two words, plow on. Ohhhh god that was sweet.

Posted by: Elvis Dingeldein [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:39 PM

"...restore the health of our planet." Seriously? More drilling = restoring the health of our planet? McCain's hitting the same stuff Lindsey Graham is smoking.

Posted by: KatinWilm [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:39 PM

We're going to stop sending money to countries that don't like us very much? Like Iraq? Saudi Arabia? Uh...France?

Posted by: Elvis Dingeldein [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:40 PM

Be afraid, be very afraid!

Posted by: kansasdem [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:40 PM

WAR WAR WAR !

Dear BBQ media--

Can we please call lies, LIES. The only reason why they do it, is because they can.

Posted by: JG [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:41 PM

Save the planet! Drill it a new asshole!

Posted by: Elvis Dingeldein [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:41 PM

Thank you JG.

This is just obscene.

Posted by: The Space Cowboy [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:42 PM

Wait, al Qaeda isn't defeated? Lindsey Graham said they were! NOW I'M CONFUSED!!!

Subtitles......

WAR WAR WAR !

Woohoo..."Fear Sells, but who's buying"

(apologies to MegaDeth here)

Posted by: The Space Cowboy [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:44 PM

"I hate war" vs. "I'll follow bin Laden to the gates of hell" Confusion is natural, Elvis.

Posted by: KatinWilm [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:44 PM

These crowd-pans are priceless. Do any of these people look like they're paying any sort of attention? The applause lines are petering out, he's losing this crowd.

Posted by: Elvis Dingeldein [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:45 PM

I'm thinking that maybe we did convince Saak’ashvili to take action against Russian occupied territories!

Oh and McCrazy has scars!

Posted by: kansasdem [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:46 PM

@ The Space Cowboy...right on for invoking Megadeth. Dave Mustaine would be proud.

Posted by: KatinWilm [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:46 PM

Isn't it such a shame that Senator Obama doesn't have deep physical and emotional scars? Ain't that just a shame? He should have been born 25 years sooner so he could drop bombs on brown people in southeast Asia.

Posted by: Elvis Dingeldein [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:47 PM

"Wait, Binky, am I supposed to clap when he says 'share'? That's kind of socialist isn't it?"

Posted by: The Space Cowboy [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:47 PM

OMG!
His biggest line of the night slamming Obama sounded like something from PeeWees big adventure.

I was blessed by being a shitty pilot.

So many trainwrecks. So little track to run off of.

Posted by: jane [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:48 PM

I thought he didn't like talking about his POW experience!
He had no worries that he might not come back from that last mission. He learned NO lessons from having lost 4 previous planes.

Posted by: ceu [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:49 PM

*Waves at Jane* Hiya honey! How's the Time-Warner tonight?

Posted by: Elvis Dingeldein [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:49 PM

"I was POW for Christ's sake. Vote for me."

Posted by: The Space Cowboy [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:49 PM

"I mean that sincerely." Thank God he clarified. I haven't been taking a damn thing else he's been talking about sincerely.

Did the crowd just laugh about the "angry crowd waiting to greet me" after he was shot down line?

Posted by: KatinWilm [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:50 PM

OMG, more poor me! O-Biden vs. oh me, oh my!

Did he just being a "community organizer" is a good thing?

Didn't his VP mock that last night?

Posted by: The Space Cowboy [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:56 PM

"Stand up. Stand up and fight." Yes...stand up and hide that the arena is only half full.

That was truly terrifying.

Posted by: KatinWilm [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:57 PM

Damn straight kansasdem! Absolutely shameless.

Posted by: The Space Cowboy [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:57 PM

Posted by: ceu [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 4, 2008 10:59 PM

I think Cindy took Sarah shopping wherever you spend $300,000 on an outfit. They've both got that shiny fabric dress suit thing goin' on.
