Matthews vs. Buchanan! Fight!
I don't mean to be overly hasty on this assessment, but Chris Matthews is really redeeming himself these days, no?

Well, Michelle got it completely wrong at the 8:49 mark, predicting that Palin will go on the air and answer questions. And yes, I think Chris has had it with the double standard and is calling them out on the mat, hopefully in a attempt to make them slip on his puddles of drool.

Yeah, Bob, I agree. Chris Matthews seems to have found his voice (and gotten a backbone) lately. It is very refreshing.
Would it be too cynical, however, to wonder if Chris' new found toughness has anything to do with a prospective run for Arlen Specter's Senate seat in a couple of years?

Almost 11 minutes of excruciating. Matthews has to do some mixin' it up, there. Olbermann was ditched so he's gotta row that boat on Bullshit River all by his dang self.

It's about time somebody cut off Buchanan. He cuts off Rachel Maddow on a daily basis and she actually has relevant points to make.

I totally agree. Chris Matthews is impressing the hell out of me lately. His hair at both conventions was a bit out of control but his analysis and feet-to-the-fire questions have been awesome. He's approaching Olberman's directness lately.

Did anyone notice at the 45 second mark how Buchanan started to say "Here's a g..." and then changed it to "young woman"? I wonder what he was going to say.. girl, gal? Grotesque?

I've adored Matthews forever. If he got lost along the way, it's probably because everyone kept slamming him for daring to have an opinion. Glad he's slamming back.

@NoSheeple:
And since when is a 44-year old, soon-to-be grandmother a "young woman". I know I wasn't a "young man" when I was 44!
