More of the Same
We're just over one week into the McCain-Palin ticket and they're already acting like Bush-Cheney and obstructing justice for political purposes:
Newsweek: McCain camp and its Alaska allies move to shut down trooper-gate probe.
What's the difference between Sarah L. Palin and George W. Bush?
Lipstick.

Sheesh.. This is the republican's best pick for VP.
If I hadn't just lived through 8 years of republican bullshit, I would actually be surprised by the fact that both people on the GOP ticket have been subjects of ethics investigations.

I must say that I feared this after reading somewhere yesterday that the legislative investigation was expected to be completed 3 weeks ahead of schedule, which had been expected to be no earlier than October 31st.
No doubt one-half of the October surprise, Sarah Palin = oh so pure, followed by what? Obama eats white babies?

Hmmmm, definitely more of the same:
"Police Chief Irl Stambaugh, who had supported Palin's opponent, lasted several months before he was fired. Palin denied that the firing was politically motivated, saying only, "You know in your heart when someone is supportive of you."
"Stambaugh sued, accusing her of contract violation, wrongful termination and gender discrimination. He said his contract forbade his being terminated without cause. A federal judge in 2000 dismissed his lawsuit, which sought more than $500,000 in damages, saying the former police chief served at the mayor's discretion and could be terminated for nearly any reason."

Just what we need, another administration where intense personal loyalty is more important than competence!
