Conservatives to Palin: 'Thanks, But No Thanks'
And the buzz is wearing off.
Richard Cohen:
McCain has turned ugly. [...] His opportunistic and irresponsible choice of Sarah Palin as his political heir -- the person in whose hands he would leave the country -- is a form of personal treason, a betrayal of all he once stood for. Palin, no matter what her other attributes, is shockingly unprepared to become president. McCain knows that. He means to win, which is all right; he means to win at all costs, which is not.
Douthat:
And there's no way to look at her [ABC] performance [...] a splash of cold water for those of us with high hopes for her future on the national stage.
David Brooks:
She has not been engaged in national issues, does not have a repertoire of historic patterns and, like President Bush, she seems to compensate for her lack of experience with brashness and excessive decisiveness.
Ouch! So the very serious conservatives seem to be done with her and McCain for now. That leaves the far-right wingnuts like Hannity, Limbaugh and the religious right crazies. Thanks, but nooo thanksss.

if the rethugs are THIS upset, its gotta be a good thing.....
so far ive heard the use it or lose it clause, the "sure you can drill...as long as the states say so, and its 50 miles off shore..."
and the 'thugs are FLIPPING out....

Here's an idea that made its way to my inbox today- send a donation to Planned Parenthood in Sarah Palin's honor (www.plannnedparenthood.org, choose DONATE and HONORARY/MEMORIUM ). They'll send a card thanking Sarah, which I sent to the McCain campaign headquarters:
