'All Of 'Em'
All Your Periodicals Are Belongs to Palin. Seriously -- she couldn't name one newspaper or book? She has a college degree in journalism for crap sake.

If she gets elected I'm moving to Canada. And I'll be taking all my periodicals with me.

But Jimmy, if you move to Canada, you'll be closer to her home state. You never know... it may be something in the water.

Sweet Jesus. There are so many possible answers to this question that would have been better than this.
I don't know which I enjoyed most - her 'great respect for the media', or her attempt to paint Katie's innocent question as an attack on Alaskan intelligence.

This clip, along with most of her interview with Couric, weirds me out. It's odd how someone with a reputation as a good debater (albeit on a local scale), good speaker, etc, (http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1008/14158.html) could suddenly come off as such an airhead. I mean, when asked about reading material, you mean to tell me that she couldn't just rattle off something, even if it wasn't true? She could have said some big ones like the Wall Street Journal, Time, Newsweek - anything other than stumbling over her answer and somehow turning the question into a defense of Alaskans. Something doesn't feel right about this and I wonder if there is some sort of bait and switch going on here.

I love the look on Katie's face at around 0:35 when Palin says that Alaska isn't a foreign country.
*blinkblinkblink*
Comedy gold.
@KatinWilm - she's not a good debater, she's a good bullshitter. Problem is that she's surpassed her level of bullshit generation.

While that may be true blogkitten, according to today's Rasmussen, 45 percent of Americans are still buying the bullshit.

Oh, now Bob, don't be such a hater and no more gotcha journalism and whatnot, k? Doncha worry about us up there in Gaad's country. We get all the latest--you know, periodics and such. I'll give ya one: how about that reader's digest? And my personal favorite is Look, which is such magazine, as far as that goes. I will say this much about that, I enjoyed old Sen. Biden's speeches as a 2nd grader; well, those and those harlequin, whaddaya callum--books?

In her defense, she may not KNOW the names of many of the periodicals that were available to her over the years. I mean if her father or other family members made it to the "reading library" before her on any given morning she likely found herself at a loss for context for what she was reading, being that the cover and several pages of the periodical may have already been used up and dropped down the sh!ttin' hole.

She impressed herself when she used the words "vast" and "variety" together. I'm thinking maybe Readers Digest, The Lighthouse, and a "vast variety" of children's literature might be her sources for information and news although I might be giving her way too much credit.

Even Palin must surely know the name of at least one newspaper.
I think the real problem might be that she doesn't know what 'periodical' means.
