Happy Sunshine Putin

Putin rears his head over Alaska, based on my Huffington observation yesterday. Courtesy of reader Ivana.

so funny...but its totally creeping me out. Not sure if its Putin's face in the sun or McCain in Palin's stomach. It kind of looks like he's banging his head against the glass trying to break free...

The Teletubbies always creeped me out. I have 3 kids, so I had to endure them for awhile. Luckily the kids outgrew them pretty quickly.

I love it. The Teletubbies even "talk" in that high-pitched squeaky tone Sarah uses.
Could we make Todd the purple Teletubby? Their Assembly of God pastor would just loooove that.

The Good Ship America.com
Pithy debate/talking points for Barack Obama
America, we have a choice! Which skipper do you want at the helm of the Good Ship America?
Tidal waves and earthquakes of change have hit our shores. We have taken many blows.
9-11, Katrina, Rita and Ike, wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and possibly in Pakistan, mortgage, credit and Wall Street crises in the Financial Meltdown of 2008!
In the last week, we have seen the meltdown of Wall Street and John McCain.
Which John McCain would be our president?
The McCain who says the economy is strong and deregulation is wrong?
Or McCain who says the economy is so shaky that he suspends his campaign, impulsively demands the resignation of the SEC Chairman, threatens to cancel the first debate, disses Letterman in favor of makeup with Couric, grandstands at the White house but says nothing for 40 mins, and then leaves it to Obama to attempt negotiation between red dog Republicans and neocon Bushmen!
Which skipper do we want? The McCain who can only spin one plate at a time, have only one old thought at a time (tax and spend, tax and spend etc)?
Or Obama, who multitasks par excellence (witness the thoughtfulness, grace and consistency of his multi-pronged campaign), and is capable of holding multiple thoughts in his head and carefully sharing them?!
Obama knows what a Blackberry can do for him. McCain only knows the blackberries in fruit salads.
Which skipper do we want? McCain, who graduated near the bottom of his Naval Academy class and troubled his way to near expulsion?
Or Obama, who was elected the first black President of the Harvard Law Review?
Do we trust the Good Ship America to a skipper who skipped many of his classes or to a skipper who inspires us with his American story of going from Kenya humble beginnings to the top of his class at Harvard?!
Obama has lived the American dream and McCain in many ways has rebelled against it.
McCain was born into the American dream and Obama had to work his way up into the American dream. Which man appreciates the American dream more—clearly, it is Obama.
McCain is on the one hand a useful maverick, but on the other hand he is a Rebel Without a Cause.
In the last month, we have seen McCain rebel for the sake of rebellion, raise hell just for the heck of it.
He chose Palin, a fellow pit bull, who at first roused the Republican base, but now, with her disastrous interviews with Gibson and Couric, has been revealed to have hardly an original thought in her head and demonstrated her beauty queen air-headedness for all America to see and tremble at the thought of this very light-weight neophyte possibly being one heart-beat away from the Presidency!
He chose Palin, clearly a desperate attempt to get the female vote, an attempt which is miserably failing interview after disastrous interview. Rebel Without A Cause …..and Rebel Without A Pause!
McCain has his ship lurching from side to side, yanking the helm left, then yanking the helm right. Do we want Captain Queeg/McCain at the helm of Good Ship America or do we want Steady as She Goes Obama at the helm?
Obama is a Rebel With A Cause. The best days and thoughts of John McCain are behind him. The best days and thoughts of Obama are ahead of him.
Do we want a skipper who has a bright future or do we want a skipper who only has a controversial past?
Obama’s thoughts and actions are measured. McCain’s thoughts and actions are un-measured.
Obama carefully chose Biden, not for excitement and a poll rush, but because Biden could assume the Presidency without sending fear and trembling through the electorate. Biden is also a thoughtful man who does not have to be hidden from public view.
Last night we experienced the First Presidential debate: We saw Mike Tyson, aka John McCain, try to land body and ear blows on Cassius Clay, aka Barack Obama.
Which president do we want?
McCain, the Pit Bull in America’s china shop, who pugilistically tried to land body blow after body blow, insult after insult, condescension after condescension on Obama? , or do we want Obama, the Irish Setter in America’s family room, who floated away from the body blows like a deft butterfly, then swooped in to land stinging counterblows.
Which do you want? McCain’s raging bull or Obama’s serene setter.?
McCain is so old school: Fight/fight/fight, threaten/threaten/threaten and win/win/win-- no matter the costs. Obama is very new school: Negotiate/negotiate/negotiate, listen/listen/listen and solve/solve/solve—balancing the costs all the way!
Obama will solve problems and salve our wounds. McCain will create problems and deepen our wounds!
McCain will tear us apart and Obama will bring us together.
Obama is the Great Negotiator and McCain is the Great Agitator!
McCain is in your face and Obama is about saving face and grace.
Let’s do the clichés and find a few pithy catch phrases in hopes one will catch on!
McCain adds fuel to the fire and Obama fuels our hopes
Obama will steer us to safe ports away from the financial storms and McCain will create storms in all our ports.
McCain is at his wits’ end and Obama is at his wits beginning
McCain changes course at the drop of a hat and Obama is deft at changing hats (multi-tasking)
McCain always has an axe to grind and wars to wage and Obama wants to grind up our errant axes and wage peace!
McCain gave the back of his hand to Obama in the first debate and Obama extended McCain a helping hand (eg “I agree with McCain on that”—McCain, on the other hand, was totally disagreeable”)
Obama knows how to batten down the hatches, but McCain prefers to batter down the hatches
McCain appears to be at a loss in running his campaign, his only strategy being disparagement of Obama. Obama refuses to disparage McCain even if it means a loss or hit for his campaign.
McCain enjoys “beating the living daylights” out of Obama, whereas Obama would rather bring daylight to the oppressed living!
McCain’s ads are an attempt to beg, borrow or steal this election.
Obama steadfastly refuses to beg, borrow or steal the election—which of these would you want as your President?!
McCain is more often than not “behind the eightball”. Obama plays a cool game of eightball!
McCain is “behind the times” and Obama is ahead of the times.
In the first debate, McCain hit below the belt, and Obama bent over backwards and complimented McCain—would you play golf or have a beer with a man who hits you below the belt?!
McCain is of two minds, but Obama is a safer bet to “mind the store”!
McCain is a self-described black sheep. Obama will be our black shepherd!
McCain blows hot and cold. Obama knows hot and cold belongs in the kitchen.
McCain and Palin are bold and brassy. Obama and Biden are gold and classy.
McCain was born to the purple, Obama was borne for the people.
McCain uses brute force, Obama will force the brutes out of office!
McCain is a pit bull in our china shop. Obama is an Irish setter sitting by our china cabinet!
Obama wants to bury the hatchets and McCain wants to bury us with hatchets (4000 dead in Iraq)
McCain wants business as usual and Obama wants to give Wall street the business.
In the debate, McCain gave Obama the cold shoulder and Obama resolutely shouldered the cold
In the debate, McCain was “hot and bothered” and Obama was calm, cool and collected
McCain likes to drop bombshells and Obama wants to shield us from terrorist bombs by actually getting Osama Bin Laden
McCain often has to eat his words, but Obama gives us words and ideas to savor.
McCain believes in an eye for an eye and Obama believes in an Aye for an Aye! Aye We can!
McCain will often fly off the handle but Obama neatly handles things on the fly!
This is a work in progress

Holy shit, it looks like McCain is chewing his way out of her like the alien in that movie that was, I think, named "Alien" if I'm not mixing it up with another, a distinct possibility with all the meds I'm on these days. (I'm also practicing my institutional shuffle just in case the Alien and the Loud Tubby steal an election--again).
