Liveblogging Prime Time
Open thread for documenting the constant variety of cable news hackery -- or just socializing.
Tonight! The Senate votes on the bailout bill. There's also a big debate tomorrow involving Joe Biden and someone named Joe Six-pack. Also, did you ever notice that McCain's fingers are shaped like little traffic cones?

More jibberish with Couric just aired. I'm betting less than 24 hours before the McCain campaign comes out with a "clarification" of Palin's agreement that there is a constitutional right to privacy.
Comedy gold. I'll almost miss her.

Why is Chris Matthews assuming she reads the local paper? If she did, she would have said that. Let's be real here - she doesn't read any newspapers. It's the only logical explanation

Don't you find it amazing that Palin just "coined the phrase" "Joe Six-Pack" yesterday on Hewitt's ultra-right wing-conservation radio show, but now the BBQ media and punditry are using "Joe Six-Pack" to replace their former "white working class" label? (And this same media scoffed when Scott McClellan said that the White House was releasing Talking Points Memos for the media....)

Lynn Sweet on Hardball saying she has sympathy for Sarah Palin not being able to name one Supreme Court case other than Roe v Wade. How is that acceptable? We already know that Palin is ignorant to the majority of America's important modern problems. But anyone who thinks they deserve to serve this country in any office should have sufficient knowledge of the history. It's pathetic, and somebody needs to call her out on it.

Gawd.
I just watched the Supreme Court question and the separation of church and state question.
Biden answered them both very well, sounding both smart and wise.
Sarah Palin made me cringe.
I'm sorry, people.
Even though she never got MY vote, I'm truly sorry and mortified that we Alaskans had any hand at all in foisting this embarrassment upon America.
I feel like I woke up in the middle of a Kurt Vonnegut novel.

And yes, CM, I think some stupid people don't know they are stupid. At least they annoying ones I encounter.

Actually, it's the people who take pride in being ignorant and have a complete lack of curiosity that bother me...the ones who want a regular "Joe six pack" instead of the best of the best... That's the kind of stupid that pisses me off - not the people who just may not know. Because there's a hell of a lot that I don't know.
Posted by: idreamofskiba

See, Skiba, it's the arrogance! Stupid by itself is really only pitiable, or at least annoying. Maybe dangerous. But offensive? No! It's the combination. Like multiple felonies make for a harsher sentence.
Palin et al are saying the media and the Left are attacking her for being (stupid, basically). We're not: it's her arrogance, overconfidence, cockiness that are offensive, scary, dangerous. It's McCain's recklessness that's offensive.
Stupid? Really, who cares (except her constituents like Packy)?

I'm attacking her for being stupid (as well as arrogant, overconfident, and cocky) I cannot imagine, in this day & age, there is any excuse for people of supposedly normal intelligenct to be this stupid. Ignorant I can handle - that can be fixed; but stupid is complete incuriosity about the world. There is not forgiving someone for that.
