Prime Time Thread
Open thread for documenting the constant variety of cable news hackery.
Tonight! I guess the "race is tightening" narrative is shot all to hell. ROOOWWWR!
8:41PM
So the cable news consensus is that Palin has destroyed the McCain campaign.

Don't Panic! I also know the Stormbear! Couldn't wait to tell you, for some silly reason. (It's a small web after all.)

Jane! Killer! Storm and I are in the same wittle bitty wedneck pwace, different parts of the county. Amazing, huh? I literally stumbled upon him (with the little "stumble" bar on my browser) and had one of those head slap moments with the small web thing. Amazing. So now we sing the song?
Posted by: dontpanic23

QT - that was pretty fantastic! I think my favorite part was: "Hell, apparently, is the McCain campaign, cause he fucking hired them." (referring to the robo-call company) But, QT, you're blushing from the url? I can't imagine what you must do while reading the comments on this blog! :)

@Jane, you know him from a previous world wide or real world thing? I figure you are right about the same age. College maybe? Or internets? I turned my son-in-law onto his strip the moment he moved here from the UK and he's hooked.
Hold hands, sing "Small World" again.

DP, we worked on a no-budget indie movie, him doing FX so he wasn't always on set. Then there was for a while a film chat thingy (think open thread). Another life, back in dial-up days...so I guess you could say, both!

@Jane - To my knowledge I've never met him in person, but when you only know someone's internet name...who knows. So, while we're singing the song, do you also know a guy named Angus MacLachlan? He wrote the film "Junebug". He's an old friend from long before the internet, and lives just south of me and west of you.

McCain "accidently" agreed that some of PA is racist:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/10/21/mccain-accidentally-agree_n_136702.html
"You know, I think you may have noticed that Senator Obama's supporters have been saying some pretty nasty things about Western Pennsylvania lately," McCain told the audience in the town of Moon Township. "And you know, I couldn't agree with them more.""

@Jane he also wrote several others over the years, one called "Mater, Tomater" or something like that, based very loosely on some people we were around while working in the same bookstore decades ago.

Mmmm...Wolfie's discussing the horrible pick Palin is. He sounds so fucking smart when he says it.

Oh, it's okay- the students in custody (re: the bear) only found it and TOOK IT TO A PARTY before dumping it on campus, and those campaign signs? That was to "cover the head wound and prevent blood from spilling into their truck."

It was top on our local news this morning, Jane. There are some seriously scary rednecks in our lovely state. Disappointingly, though, none were out when I voted this afternoon. Yes, I voted. And it was glorious. I actually teared up a bit standing there. To make the experience complete, though, I was hoping that some McFucker supporter would try to heckle me - just so I could have the pleasure of laying a little smackdown. No such luck though - they all must have been off shooting poor little bears in the mountains.

Bill Bennett just answered a question that has been haunting me for months now: why do I despise Sarah Palin? Apparently, I'm jealous because she's pretty. And happy.
I'm so glad I've got that all straightened out. It obviously has nothing to do with her medieval policies regarding women, her penchant for lying and just being a all-around bitch. Glad that's all figured out. I'm jealous of her hair.
