The Final Countdown

Today is a good day. The polls are outstanding -- and when I see these polls side-by-side with Palin's obscene clothing expenses and Congressman Hayes' "git 'er done!" remarks, I feel a great sense of satisfaction that these displays of slackjawed hypocrisy are being rejected by a majority of Americans. After eight years of this dark ride -- eight years of Larry the Cable Guy Politics (Larry is a fraud, too), it feels -- at least for now -- that we're nearing the end.

I know there are more important issues right now than how much the RNC spent on Palin's clothes, but it's emblematic of the McCain/Palin hypocracy.

The Dow is down already this morning more than it ever went up yesterday, millions of people are homeless now and have no health care, and Palin, who bills herself as "Joe Six-Pack" has spent more in the past few weeks than most people could afford in a lifetime on clothes.

McCain is carping about Obama wanting to spread the wealth, while McCain wants to lavish the wealth on his running mate. And she's accepting it.

How much health care could that have paid for? How many people could have been helped with that money?

I doubt the people who donated to the RNC think $150,000 on Palin's outfits is a good use of their cash.

It's disgusting.

Bob! John Stewart just (in today's rerun) did-a-Bob. He asked Christopher Buckley if he's endorsing Obama because Buckley is black.

O/T here but there wasn't one of your famous "because...whaaaah?" posts up.

I think they must. Our fearless leader Jon Stewart are sharing material. That just works.

Pulled this from Oliver's blog...

Two things;
1. I'm anticipating that little to no work will get done on the 5th because there will be open dancing in the streets

2. Would Republicans stand for our military weaponry to operate with such low reliability as our polling machines? (unfortunately, that question doesn't carry the same weight it did 60 years ago)
