Ten Grand for Obama - $5,000!
We just hit a major milestone in our Ten Grand for Obama fundraising goal. $5,000! We're halfway there with 11 days to go. The stats so far:
Contributions: 166
Average Contribution: $30.12
I can't tell you how proud I am of this community we've developed here. I never thought we'd hit $1,000 on that first day, and now we're well on our way to meeting our Ten Grand goal by election day. And don't forget, there's an "other" section for contributions, so you can write-in $1 or $2. Whatever you can afford.
Congratulations! Let's keep going.

I would give more than I did if I had it to give.

I'm with you, JM, I'm tapped until the first. Groceries are even on hold until then. If my son hadn't been laid off I'd have more, but I'm having to cover his half of the groceries...which leaves me nothing and not too many interesting groceries.

You win Bob. I donated via your site. I said I wouldn't because voting for the bailout was Obama's biggest mistake.
His second biggest mistake is saying "revenue" to Joe the Asshole Plumber plant. The IRS does not tax revenue; it taxes profit only.
Anyways, I do support Obama and when he's President he can start gaining the confidence of creditors and lenders all over the world by diverting what's left of our $700 billion.
Is there a website with a feed where we can track how much Paulson spends every day? It's our money damnit!

just gave another $5--I also recommend going to Moveon's site--they have some crucial races you can donate to as well--as Bob referenced in a post a few days ago.
One last thing, please go to
http://www.tinklenberg08.com/
El Tinklenberg must defeat Bachman. She is the epitomy of everything that is wrong with our politics, the Republican party, and the fear and smear of the last 8 years. She is also in a heavily red district--if she were to go down, it would be a watershed moment--Please go to El's site and give at least $1.

I wonder what VISA is doing with their cut of these on-line donations. Anybody know how that works for non-profits? Seems like they shouldn't skim a profit.
I just gave to the Bachmann's Term Is Over drive, and here's another greenback for the Cesca Fiesta.

Frankly, I'm gettin a little pissed about being in Taiwan with no paypal account or credit card.
Fuck. Isn't rabid ranting enough for you people?
Do you have to inflict pecunious guilt on the impecunious?
If Pops were still alive, as I recently suggested elsewhere, he'd have mailed a cheque despite my advice that Canadians can get into trouble for donating and American candidates into trouble for taking it.
"So...let them arrest me."
It made my brother laugh.
Still though...the dollar thermometer is startin' to get on my fuckin' nerves.
