"That one!" Mach 2
Posted by JumpyPants
Via HuffPost:
Darren Davis, a professor at Notre Dame who specializes in role of race in politics, writes about McCain's "that one" line. "It speaks volumes about how McCain feels personally about Obama. Whomever said the town hall format helps McCain is dead wrong."
"That one!" As if he were pointing at an object.
Professor Davis is right. McCain poured vodka all over himself and lit it on fire tonight. He's over.

Look, I'm not kidding: I grew up in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. You only say "That one" when the person's name makes your mouth taste like ashes because of the hate in you. Period. I've heard my grandmother say it 10,000 times, and rarely about a white person.

Absolutely. When I heard it I did a whiskey spit take. I think this will be bad for McCain. As far as the format goes, frankly, he looked old on the stage with Obama. He sounded incoherent as he stumbled through possible thoughts that didn't quite form. I even felt a little bad for McCain at times--in a don't stop kicking the old man way, but bad none the less.

It screams racism. "That One" isnt a hard jump from "That NI%#*." It certainly dehumanizes Obama.

Elvis, I know what you're saying. I will say in my experience as a life long southern man I have heard adults refer to children that way no matter there color. Still, it is a condescending attack the old use on whipper snappers who make trouble.

Sheerly through his own actions he has demonstrated himself as a racist and NEEDS TO BE CALLED ONE. MAKE him deny it. MAKE him justify his actions.
Have a look at the 2000 Primary debate. I'm certain he extended to Gov. Bush every courtesy.
Someone that will openly disrespect and dehumanize a colleague is NOT SOMEONE THAT CAN BE A REPRESENTATIVE OF THE UNITED STATES IN ANY FORM. MCWHITEY NEEDS TO RESIGN AS A SENATOR.
